Ferry from Harwich Spotter? Doing that in a few weeks, haven't got any idea what route we're doing when we actually get there though
-

I did yes, don't worry about the navigation, its all really well sign posted. This is the basic route we went:

However we took an extra 10km diversion to be able to cycle next to cost for longer as it was so lovely.

Some production company want to use some photos I took of a DJ and have asked how the images should be credited. I have no idea. Does any-one here?

Its for TV, just to be clear.

No use at all, but a stock-photo of my girlfriend ended up in some spoof video on the Daily Show in the US, apparently in contravention of the photographer's terms of use. I was amused.

They might be asking do you want your name credited or your website? Make sure they pay you.

anyone heard of this company?
http://www.supersizeprint.co.uk/Home.aspx
Need to get some A0 size duratrans printed, and they are very cheap... more than half what places like metro or genesis charge.
My work isn't photographs this time so quailty doesn't have to be "photogrpahic grade".
Or anyone has any recommandation where to get some duratrans printed?

Finally finished my website :)

Any advice gratefully received!

I like it.
Some good work in there.I like the fact that it's structured nice and simple.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of horizontally scrolling through stuff, and I find it a bit difficult to really take one picture in if the neighbouring ones are so close though. -

the black and white landscape photo in "travel" is incredible! my only constructive criticism would be that the opening shot (homepage) is IMO no where near one of your strongest.
-
• #6938
Cheers guys.
I think I'll try out some different images on the homepage, I quite like that one for some reason but you're right it's probably not the strongest.
Do you think just adding more space between each image would help Tina? Or should I move to a click to show the next one type arrangement? I think some of the images work next to each other but some of them don't really..
Thanks for the helpful comments :) -

I went along to Talbot Framweworks last week to take some snaps for Matt and Neil.

There are more than there needs to be just to give them a selection to choose from.

I'm looking for some advice on compact system cameras, I'm doing some reading around, but thought I'd do a quick search here but not much has come up.
At the moment I'm drawn to the Fujifilm X100 by the cool looks and size, but I'm still exploring. Two things I'd like are a built in flash and view finder. If anyone has better suggestions I'd appreciate it.
My main question is about lenses.
I want an all round lense that I can leave on most of the time. But I also want something that will handle big landscapes like the Salar de Uyuni. I'm pretty certain I would have room or the desire to carry more than one extra.
Can anyone recommend what iI should be looking for or where I should be looking for information?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

X100 is nice and not that pricey atm but RX100 III would be ace

Why not the X20? it got a proper viewfinder for once (with information and zoom).

Sorry if this is a thick question, but is the x20 just the new improved x100?
Edit:
so it's a different model in their range. I've been looking on eBay and the X-E1 doesn't seem to be that expensive second hand. Also it has the advantage of changeable lenses (although I'm not sure if that is important for me).
It's all a bit confusing really. I'm now just looking at Fuji because I can't really imagine throwing another brands range of cameras in the mix :s

The "compact camera" market / what all the brands have been pushing out in the last two or three years is totally nuts, yes.
Do you have prior experience with a specific brand you like / are already used to?
Check out Olympus OM-D maybe...

Let just says that the X20 is the smaller and cheaper version of the X100 with zoom lens.
The X20 replaced my dad's DSLR, which he now brought a wide angle prime lens for it, and use the X20 for everything else.

^^ I've got no real brand experience or allegiance. My mum uses nikon, because that's what her SLR was so it made sense to keep the lenses. All my friends use Cannon DSLRs. Both seem to have good usability to me. The fuji attracted me because people seem to go on about the colours it produces.
^ cheers Ed, that's useful.
I guess the desire for changeable lenses is driven by wanting to future proof. As I've got time over the next year and will be in some amazing scenery I'd like a decent camera and to make use of it. But at the moment this isn't something I'm going to be spending lots of money on continually so I don't want to find myself in 6 months or a year buying something else because of a lack of options.
Thanks for the patience. I realise this is the ultimate noob derail.
Tl;Dr I want something that isn't too big, I can practice/improve on, and most important will be appropriate for vast open landscapes.

Pretty much why I suggested the X20.
The future proof aspect of changing lenses isn't something you need to worry about, as long the camera have a decent lens on, it'll be more than apt for what you want it for.
My dad stick with Pentax because his old lens work on it, but he never sway from his kit 17-55mm lens (until he got an X20 and a 15mm lens for the DSLR).

Has anyone used the Oly OM-D E-M1? Looks lush and I'm thinking it might be my ideal body to replace my GX1 when I have some money.

I bought one with the M.Zuiko 12-40mm 2.8 zoom. Still learning to use it, but it feels rock solid, and the EVF is awesome. A really well designed camera.
I sold my Nikon gear to get it. My old D300 was still working just fine, but it is a heavy beast with the battery grip.
