I hear you dude. At least we get higher burst rates with crop... sometimes.
Cheap full frames are still too expensive.

I think it's priced wrong, even at launch, though I appreciate the cost of sensor fabrication is more than DX yadda yadda. Presets on the dial: I can see how they would be useful; but no AF ON, 1/4000th max shutter... Picking holes - let's see what it does image-wise.

Not sure I get why the big brands are making top end DSLRs smaller.
Surely there's more than enough to choose from if 'small' is what you're after - CSCs, m4/3 etc etc.
I always thought the professional bulk of the high end cameras was part of their appeal. You could get really great photos on the likes of a D90 but turning up to shoot a wedding having quoted several grand and pulling out something small just wouldn't cut it.

Agree. I loved the size of my 5D. There's smaller dlsr's to be had, but they're not smaller in a way that makes sense. Still bulky to carry around, and you get worse grip.

The main reason I went with Nikon in the first place was that they fit into my hand more comfortably, I just found canon too cramped. I also didn't like the buttons, no point in having a camera that takes great images but that I can easily use imo.

Why wouldn't it? Surely this is more in the mind of the actual photographer than the client. They have already booked you, they chose you because of the size of your camera, or having seen some of your portfolio and liking your work? Do you really think on their big day they are going to pay that much attention to what equipment you are using?

If you're really that worried about the body looking too small, buy the battery grip.

Exactly why I went with a D100 over the equivalent Canon back in 2002. Shit. Ten years ago...

MFT, the 17mm pancake makes more sense.

Yeah, maybe stuff like the PEN. But for those situations with a bigger DSLR in a variety of different bags, sometimes you have to store it without a lens on. So to have at least SOMETHING on the end means less chance of missing that shot. And that, to me, is important.

At f8 wide open you will normally miss the shot.....
-
• #2469
Bollocks. Set your ISO at what, anywhere between 1600 to 6400 and you'll be fine.
-
• #2470
But then if you want to use a more practical lens you have to change iso back... Slightly impractical.
-
• #2471
Its a nice idea, but I would have thought something in the f2.8/f4 range might be a tad more practical

What do you think will give better results? A DSLR with a £70 hood lens or a MFT with a decent pancake?

f8 on a 30mm makes sense.
