So much for the best laid plans and all that... my girlfriend's finishing work earlier than expected at 2pm and if the home office gets its way she'll be out of the country in a month so it's hardly the most sympathetic time to be off on a ride.

Still, I want to come along so I'll just see how far we get by lunchtime and then find a train to whizz me back to town.

Looks like I'll be ducking out at East Hanningfield or Bicknacre and then heading to Chelmsford.
The railway line to the south is closer, but trains are every hour and take an hour to get to Liverpool Street.

This would be a wicked little ride. Wish I was going to be in the country (kind of). Enjoy. Hope the sun shines!

cobbled bb with new grease and bearings but still same axle, won't be the smoothest or quietest but will do the job. lovely campy wheels borrowed off tarck tandem for the day. looking forward to it but feeling rather unfit at the mo

Ah shit, count me out unless I turn up. Girlfriend's most upset about the visa situation so I'm heading there now. She's working in the morning though so if I can get up...

This ride has been on my mind throughout my day at work- a day of enforced idleness because the Pope in the Park event] just round the corner kept all my customers away. Like a mouse in its wheel my thoughts chased themselves around: sun;tarmac; sand; chips....sun; tarmac...
