hehe yeah, and then throw them backwards with a loud comedy "thwangggggg!!!"

  • I was in Oxford the other day, the railway station bike park has more locking fail in it than this entire thread. I'll get the pictures off my phone at some point.

I think this is the craziest idea I have seen so far. Two bikes for the price (£0) of one

  • stratford upon avon is really going downhill nowadays

  • shit should have taken a photo earlier. a dawes off roader chained by the frame to some hefty railings...by what looked like a bath plug chain and a shed padlock. photo fail.

  • bike thief fail. he/she could easily had the tire and tube off that wheel... sloppy work :)

  • In France.. they only steal what they need..

  • because everyone needs an innertube that has been sawn in half and a chunk of tyre???
I fail to see what this accomplished....

  • I have no idea.. which is why I took the pic.

  • emergency boot? a laugh?

would have had the rotor off that hub aswell

  • emergency boot? a laugh?

love it. i love the idea that some one would do that . emergency tire boots FTW!

  • canary wharf on friday, awesome

2 locks, just one locking rear wheel

I have to admit that I did something very similar this week. Two hours and only locked the lock to the frame and balanced it on the bike rack. Came back to feel like a complete twat and lucky to still be in posession of my bike.

Thanks Sheffield for leaving my bike where it was.

Have locked like this for a short time, bikes in view, out with mate, only one of us had a mini shackle and we were nipping into a pub for a pint.
Careful alignment of the bikes and choice of lock location can make it not totally insecure.

    its one massive locking fail.
    students are idiots.

If the owner really doesn't want the bike so bad I'll have it... Really nice conversion!

  • Just thought id put up a picture of the multi cycle rack just to the right of the lfgss stand at the Smithfield nocturne last night.

It's been in the same place for over a day now. There's been lots of thefts from the area as well so I'm surprised it hasn't been pinched yet.

before you says that, are you sure? these kind of locking are pretty common, fairly standard in all over the world, the only exception when they're useless is in cities such as London where bike crime is pretty high due to the easy loophole of earning easy money and getting a slap on the wrist.

  • trust me.
    its fucking hilarious.
today I've seen at least four bikes 'locked' to bollards that reach my nads, with cables I could break with my testicles.

Outside my window right now, I can see at least 30 bikes freelocked to fuck all.
Gangs of theives just go down a street and its like plucking a particularly retarded fruit tree.
(retarded in the sense of growth- its a technical term).

I've seen nice roadbikes locked up through front wheels on QR.
Bike crime here is high for a reason- its piss easy.

And lets not forget the biggest cunt of them all-
    Me.
when I left my bike in my college, unlocked. not that that's uncommon

Don't fuck with this man's balls!

  • sheer forces, innit?

  • A friend from up North returned to his bike to find this note attached:

    Any one here?

(edit: not found on friends bike after all, found on interwebs. Dynamex are American)

  • Why do I keep looking at this thread and laughing at people who are completely inept? It's a bit like watching and enjoying the audition rounds of x-factor or wtf they call it nowadays. Once you get to the bit where they can actually sing, it's really crap. Would anyone be interested in a 'ways to lock your bike' thread with loads of juicy pics of bikes locked with double fahgs and pitlocks? No? Me neither, like bike anti porn this is much more interesting. Am I a bad person?
