I see this the other day. Failed myself to take a photo.
But someone needs to pay attention to what part of the pole thing you lock your nice bike to.

^ 20inch wheels on that frame? Huge clearances! that front end geometry too - would handle awful, impossible to sell on ;)

Why stop there? The cranks are at weird angle and the top tube is ridiculously long.
Plus it looks like it's made out of ectoplasm and twigs.

plus it has no pedals, but that is a great drawing of a railing!

lol cunts :D

i came back to my bike today and realised that i'd locked it to a 1 metre high bollard rather than the lamp post next to the bollard. oops.

Still better that railway's railings, isn't it? ;-)

I saw a good one this morning. D lock passed through the spokes (but without actually going around any) and around the bike stand. But get this, to secure the bike to the lock, they had threaded their helmet onto the lock. One good stamp on the helmet and you'd have a nice steel framed bike (complete with old chromed rack), and you wouldn't even have to think about breaking the lock.

Sure the lock could be slipped over the bars on this if not it would be easy to remove them briefly then put back on and ride off.
This was near brick lane last night, see some others but started to get a few looks so moved on before someone thought I was on the theif.
Obviously fron wheel would need to be removed quickly!

I don't blame him, I wouldn't want that dog shitted tyre either.

Huh? In what way is this a fail, other than not securing the wheels?

I presume this was the thinking..
1) take the front wheel off
2) take off stem + bars
3) slip lock off the front of the bike (because it's not locked through anything and looks to be enough slack)
4) put wheel and stem + bars back on
5) ride awayit's by no means the worst piece of locking ever but going through the frame would secure it.

The wheel doesn't have quick release, so it should be fine anyhow.

No one would go through that rigmarole for that shopper bike. Shirley?
-
• #643
dont call me Shirley.

So glad that someone picked up on that. I'll have a screwdriver.

Mashton the thread title says "Ways not to lock your bike" not "Fail" thats another thread.
Although it is a bit of a mare to nick this bike some of these crap looking bikes fetch OK money. If it took me ten mins to take this and sell for £50 possibly £100 thats good money.

I saw a reet nice bmx unlocked for 2 hrs on pall mall.
made me happy about locking locations.
Next to it was some POS cable lock with one of those novelty soccer ball combo jobs, cut.
I put 3 and 7 together and realised that some cunt had tried to lock up the BMX and another bike and someone had gotten pissed off and cut it.
