  • I enjoy spotting lockups elsewhere. This in Paris, is sadly hard to see, but behind the seat tube you can see that the lock is securing the rear brake cable only.

  • I know they probably nipped into sports direct for a new set of lights, but this wouldn't take long...

  • how very dare you!

  • I'm busy right now? I'll move it when I'm ready to move it?

not mine, found outside my work against a pole between a bus shelter and a news kiosk.

actually wondered if the note was put there by the bikes owner as some sort of passive/aggressive theft deterrent...although the bike itself would seem to be an automatic theft deterrent

  • i want an explanation for the question mark. Or is it a drawing of steaming poop?

  • My brother and I were in stitches. And on Brixton High St!

  • The other evening I was in the supermarket happily food shopping away... It wasn't until I got to the till and started to put everything in my bag that I realised my lock was in the bottom of my bag. I'd just propped the bike up against the stand and wandered off. Fortunately it was still there when I got outside but I did feel pretty stupid!.

  • ^ did that exact thing a few weeks back.

  • Same, but undid the d-lock, put it on the floor (open with key in hole) to put lights in bag, and went and did my shop. Everything still there upon return.

  • I'm surprised they even bother

  • ^ state of that chain and cassette, it doesn't look like they're bothering much.

  • It's a trap. The whole thing collapses once stolen.

  • n/a

  • needs cross post in epic fail

  • The look on the guys face when he came out and saw my 3000 around his front wheel, frame and the stand was priceless.
Had already put a note on the bike by that point just in case he hadn't come back by the time the girlfriend had finished her shopping.

  • Outside TK Maxx, Norwich.

  • Camouflage adds extra security points.

  • It's a worry that people this stupid, drunk or careless are cycling on the roads we share.

I think most of these examples are from people who are yet to have a bike stolen...
