csb:
I've seen a young lad a few times on The Isle of Dogs with a Boris Bike as his daily run around. He (or someone) has tried their best to un-Boris it. They've removed all the fairing, mudguards, stickers and lights etc. Still no mistaking it for a Bo Bike though.

More like, how not to take care of your bike.

• #3585
If only we could get away with using locks like that
-
• #3586
How can you effectively lock a tarck bike with 88mm rims. 3 dlocks? 1 + megachain?
Hoke says he deploys 4 dlocks! Awaiting visuals

• #3587
One big dlock, one chain/extension/cable lock?
-
• #3588
Have the chain so tight that even after undoing the nuts you can't get the back wheel out and then just lock front and frame with large d lock.
-
• #3589
Unless your wheels are extraordinarily valuable, relying on extension cable for wheels is probably sufficient.

Drill a Dlock size hole in the rim, lock them normally :P
-
• #3591
They are unbranded crabonz from China so def not Zipp money but would just hate to get done. I think a combo of the above plus all the usual measures to avoid getting robbed will suffice. Thanks all.

Lulz. Ver ver clever young man

^^ if you're leaving them long it might be safer and easier to just carry a small spanner. take one off and d lock it with the other + frame. also helps fill up a big D
-
• #3594
Yeah that is a good point actually. I am pretty good at not leaving long and bring inside at work etc but do carry a spanner already so really wouldn't be much fuss at all.

I suppose they might be sitting in view in that location ... hopefully the bike isn't still there otherwise the road sign is a dead giveaway!

put large d-lock through spokes and over the rear seat stays.
mini d on front wheel and downtube.
They're nicked right? Surely you wouldn't ring up those kinds of charges on your own account...
