Amazingly the bike was still there. To be fair it's a second floor balcony, but that didn't stop it happening to otters, or to the guy on the other monaco langster the other week.
Yeah. Otters are well slack. Not as bad as shrews though.

Ha John, my bikes were at least locked together when the thieving toe-rags whipped them off the balcony!

Double fail.

haha, someone even bothered to take the tyres. Idiots.

• #257
at least the chain did it's job well and kept the owner's wheels - both of them.
the stolen tyres are probably cut off purely to humiliate the person further. -

I would have taken the rim tape too. They didnt even go around the wheel, just through the spokes.

And the dustcaps.

i realize now, phat chain around 2 or 4 spokes there, i am now surprised, they left the set of wheels there.

Imagine that moment of clarity and realisation upon returning to these wheels.

And they even stole the cassette! I've got a funny feeling those wheels didn't have any bikes attached to them.

I was gonna say, this looks like someone bought a wheelset and couldn't be arsed to cart them home after the pub.

They've been there for about a month or more though!
I don't understand it either, there's so many wheels chained up around, so either people have just left their bike, or when they've returned to find the wheel thought fuck it, I'll leave them there. -

I think that you have every right to steal it and take it straight down to the police station and just tell them you found it in the street. [This is NOT legal advice].
Seriously, it's going to get nicked. The best option for him is that he learns his lesson but not his bike. The best option for you is the 10% chance he does not report it or get his bike back, and you get a lush freebie a few months down the line.
28 days later. (not the film with zombies though)
And many nicks (like Watford) don't have a bike store anymore. When you report it, they ask you to store it at yours place and 4 weeks later its your bike. I've gained two old rides that way.

i reckon someone lost their key and salvaged all they could from their own bike. hence the missing tyres!

Spotted outside a little forum drinks last friday, bike ridden by a respected member of our community, shocking lock-up. His name rhymes with Truvenrad.

Old news, and Krypto recalled and replaced all defective locks. The new keyways are flat, antipick disc locks. The only weakness other than brute force on the NY locks is heat, and Kry. are working on that at my suggestion.
Really, no freeze & sledgehammer? liquid nitrogen can't be that hard to find.
Massive chain which was easily long enough to lock the wheel and frame to the object only locked through a QR wheel.
No wonder bike crime is so high on London half of it is down to how easy people make it to nick their bikes!!!!!
