Absolutely breaks my heart this does but she sounds like an absolute trooper, hoping for a quick and complete recovery!

Awful to hear. Heal up miniDAS. I'm sure we'll club together for a super Lasagne when you recover! Best wishes to family also.

Can't thank you all enough
She's an inspiration, I won't be moaning about minor injuries ever again!
I have been unsure about sharing this but I think it makes more of an impact and if it even makes one person take a little extra care on the road then its worth it. Especially around schools since Children possibly don't have the same road awareness and predictability of adults.
Picture for the non squeamish

Poor girl :( best wishes to her

Poor kid but sounds like she is a tough cookie! Hope she heals up quick and it doesn't knock her confidence.
Also happy to put money towards importing the finest lasagne in the world for her.

What a trooper! Hoping she makes a total recovery to sit at a feast of all kinds of Lasagne!
Share away. I think it's important to be reminded of the risks and dangers of using a vehicle on the road. Take care.

Super odd exchange with a driver today: was approaching traffic lights, two lanes one for left and one for straight on. The straight ahead lane was empty, the left hand one had three stationary cars. I was cycling in the middle, thinking about it I should have taken the right hand lane sooner but moved into it as I got to the stationary cars. I could hear a car coming up behind me but the lights were red and I was a few yards from the line.
Anyway I stop on the line to the left and am surprised when a 4x4 pulled alongside me since it was a squeeze. Anyway Irish chap in the car decides to tell me I 'should have had my blinkers on' when I moved into the lane (I literally went a foot to the right) I ask why since the light is red and he must have been going slowly. He says he could have hit me and I said he would have to be a very bad driver to hit me, to which he says 'well I'm a bad driver' and I just said if you say so. That was it no cursing, but just had that awkward moment waiting for the lights to change. He eased the tension by putting on some folk jig noise and singing along with it.
Then as the lights change he absolutely guns his engine and wheelspins off the line shooting across the junction. There another cyclist on the road on the other side who was quite wide out in the road so this guy first honks his horn and then is forced to violently swerve around him. It was pretty close though and the driver was barely in control.
Really fucking odd. Glad he didn't hit the other cyclist, not sure exactly why he did, perhaps he was determined to prove just how bad a driver he was

Your minor inconveniencing of him flicked his switch to psycho mode. You monster.

The weird thing was it was reasonably jolly up until he decided to career wildly across the junction and almost flattened someone

Have noticed at least 4 Audis and 1 Merc with no plates (not propped in the windscreen, nothing on front or rear) driving like idiots in the last couple of weeks. Something tells me it would end up badly for me if I ever called them out at the lights and there's no way to report them so... guess they found the ultimate loophole?

Do you think she's likely to want to get back on a bike afterwards?
It just as possible and it is not possible, I think you just have to let her make her choices, make sure she knows you back her either way!

That sounds like some pretty serious shit. Is it all in one area? I'd definitely report this.

They weren't together in a pack or anything but I've seen them all in traffic around Haringey, Islington and Camden. It just kind of clicked that I'd been noticing them a lot as I was getting ready to go this morning when one blasted past my Bikehangar. Unless I've somehow just been seeing the same plateless black Audi everywhere? But the Merc was definitely silver.

I reported a TfL bus a couple of weeks back and got a reference number (RSF-3904-18-0101-RSF) but since then I've had the CCTV back from the bus company. Is there any way I can let the police now that there's now some evidence?

Utter cockwomble in a black peugeot couldn't hold back for 30 seconds which in turn could have caused a massive accident and possibly death last night. A few of us went out for a spin cycling up Limpsfield road and wanting to make the right turn onto Slime Oaks Rd, two of us had dropped a little off the back to allow cars into the gap between us and the guys in front. They guys in front are just coming up to the right turn, all signalling and starting to moving over it's also on a slight bend just as they do this the knob jockey starts his overtake manoeuvre not seeing/not caring that there part of the road is narrowing so the driver is forced to use the on coming lane which of course there is a car coming, instead of slowing and pulling into the gap in front of us they accelerate into the ever narrowing gap between the group in front and the oncoming car. Luckily someone in the group in front must have checked behind saw this car and got everyone to move back from the middle of the road, I think if they hadn't the driver would have plowed into them or the driver would have hit the oncoming car but they somehow managed to get through the gap. It was so close the driver of the on coming car stopped just afterwards. Made me feel really sick watching that, apart from that was a lovely ride.
Unfortunately it happened so fast we couldn't get a picture or number plate.

I’m normally very against RLJing but on that occasion I think I’d have smugly rolled through the red with a solitary finger in the air behind me.
This is just awful. Hope she heals fast and well!
