• Does anyone have a quick link to one of those sites where you can check the make and model of a certain reg plate? I can't find one...user error....

It's a Renault Espace Expression (MPV)

    I used https://www.mycarcheck.com/

I used another one on the DVLA site a while ago that had the colour as well, but can't find it at the moment - wish I'd posted the link at the time,

  • Anyway...driver of GD04 CUU haz been reported for threatening to run me over. Twice. Idiot.

askmid.com will do it. You ok?

  • ^^Thanks kids, I found askmid, and submitted a report to roadsafe. They got back this morning and said I should probably report to police. Which I might, otherwise they just send a letter.

I'm fine, nothing happened, I just didn't really feel that his inviting me to present myself as roadkill for him was acceptable behaviour. And he did it twice, after I calmly told him that it was illegal (which I'm not actually sure about).

  • spybot

i am sure that attempting to hit you with his vehicle is at least frowned upon if not illegal

  • There was no attempt, just the warning that if I tried to remain in front he would knock me off. Once he made that threat (twice) I thought fuck it, drive on, pathetic wretch, and let him pass. I'm not going to risk being a martyr for the sake of my pride. But I will probably report it.

  • Good reaction Spybot.. I had same kind of thing Sunday as I pulled into a ASL box. Gezzer shouts out "you're not gonna get in my way are you!?".. Gave him a withering WTF look and RLJ'd.. Because I could..

  • Thanks Brave...

  • had some absolute fucknut drive right down the middle of the two lanes here (right hand lane was full of queuing traffic) to squeeze past me doing at least 20mph when I was in primary position in the left hand lane and slowing my speed because the lights ahead were red and traffic had already stacked a few car lengths up ahead of me.

the second he gets past my front wheel he cuts me up and immediately has to slam on the brakes as we've now both caught up with the traffic in front and he nearly goes into the back of the car in front of him.

he's turning left at the lights but another cyclist in front of him who's going straight ahead obviously isn't going fast enough when the lights change so he gets a blast of his horn and a rev of the engine as he tries to push past him the second there's a glimmer of space.

so two lots of aggressive, dangerous driving over the space of 30 yards of road all to save himself one car length in a queue for some traffic lights and 2 seconds turning off at a junction.

I may have made a hand gesture as I rode past the back of his car as he turned off indicating that he was an avid self indulger but as the traffic was moving nicely by then the only response I could make out was a muffled shout as I rode off into the distance.

  • Found this great iPhone app for getting real time number plate matches it's called VRM Search

    It's a fiver though...

  • I just had the No. 76 try to take me up the rear on High Rd. leading up to seven sisters, it blasted its horn and accelerated behind me and I had to dive onto the ped crossing to avoid it taking me out!

No idea what his problem was, I was going at a steady road speed in a dead straight line!

Any idea how/ if this should be reported?

  • If anyone has an altercation with a red Range Rover PR2 227 in S E London, the driver has a placard which he will put in the windscreen saying he's a police officer. It's best to stay well away and just go and report him. Penalty for impersonation is obviously greater than whatever he's done to you.

  • I was half tempted to whizz up the street to the bus stop and find out what the problem was, but I thought it best to have a check on here, i'm guessing it is a pretty common thing for busses to get irate

  • Reported! Hopefully it is just a one off with that driver

Any idea if TFL are any good at responding to this sort of thing

  • freedom of information, ask for the camera footage

they will go apeshit at that point

  • nice!

  • Witnessed some shocking driving earlier by a sig express lorry from dulwich through camberwell.

Stupidly didn't get a plate number going to report anyway got a good description of the driver.

He was unbelievably aggressive to all other road users culminating in him flooring it at a set of lights straight at cars crossing the lane turning off to a side road however it wasn't the lane he needed to be in so after unnecessarily blasting his horn at them etc proceded to swing across the lane I was in without indicating to turn left using his horn at all other road users (I had hung back as I had already clocked him driving like a retard) if I wasn't aware I dread to think what would have happened.

I will be amazed if the driver doesn't have an accident, he was driving a lorry with a fork lift attached to the back can't believe someone can be so reckless.

  • What a nightmare! The company should be able to identify the driver with a description and the route.

I wish I’d taken note of the company just now when I saw a skip lorry driver on his mobile turn left at a busy junction. Tried to read the rear number plate instead, which was totally obscured.

    Good luck with it.

  • 3rd day in a row I've reported somebody to the cops for trying to kill me. Wtf?

The good news is that I'm becoming highly skilled at doing endos.

  • Had my moment this morning, cycling up Thoabalods Road, ahead of the traffice coming up to the lights on Red Lion St (on red) and then a moped courier driver appears at my right hand shoulder. The lights are still on red and this guy starts getting closer and closer to me, pushing me out of the way. If I hadn't moved over we'd have collided. We had a few words at the lights where I told him he was a fat cunt and we swapped a few pleasentaries along that line

He was wearing a high vis vest, works for CYC couriers and was on a 125cc.

Rant over is there a best re-course for this/ Would it rate as calling the poice or would a shitty email to work do the job?

Pretty sure on that stretch there are a load of cameras. There was also someone n a black bike (orange logo) with a yellow dry sack who had been doing an excellent track stand earlier who might have a more impatial view - good chance of him being on here?

  • I'd complain to his employers first. Maybe leave out the "fat cunt" part of the description, though.

  • If you have ever met the owner of CYC then 'fat cunt' is probably the first phrase you would reach for.

  • hmm - trying to picture him in a camo rain suit and wearing a helmet - looks similar but if they have enough money to throw at Millwall then I'm presuming he wouldn't ride in on a scooter

  • Reported a lorry driver to his company for using his phone whilst driving and got the response below. I'll follow up when I get an update.

    Good morning

I just wanted to let you know that I saw the driver of vehicle YG53 UTC using his mobile phone whilst driving. This was at the junction of Blackstock Road and Seven Sisters Road, N4. This occurred on Tuesday morning.

No doubt you take your safety obligations very seriously, and I refer you to this article on the death of Catriona Patel to illustrate the potential consequences of lorry drivers using their phones whilst driving.

    http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/local/streathamnews/8675868.Drunk_lorry_driver_who_ran_over_cyclist_while_talking_on_mobile_phone_jailed/

I look forward to your response.

    Kind regards
    Oliver Jeffcott

    Dear Mr Jeffcott,
Many thanks for your communication, the information is much appreciated.

All our vehicles are equipped with hands free telephone sets, there is no reason for any driver ever to need to pick a handset up.

I take on board your comments, and upon his return to the depot this afternoon will most certainly be speaking to the the driver concerned.

It is not good for our industry to receive negative acceptance from the public, I note from your attachment that the incident that you refer to the driver was actually drunk in charge...as well as on the phone !

I thank you once again for your time, and rest assured that this will be dealt with.
    Best Regards
