Looks like a pretty shoddy attempt at 'traffic calming'

Looks pretty fucking calm to me.

Just reported some cunt in an ambulance for variously passing too close, getting behind me when riding in primary and beeping his horn, yelling at me out of his window at traffic lights and then punishing me with a close pass. Holloway Road this morning. If you see an ambulance with the license YX11 HVG then steer well clear. I saw him do similar to every cyclist from Upper Holloway to Liverpool Road. Total asshole.
Trying to figure out how to complain to the ambulance service itself, but am coming up blank for who to contact to complain if you're not an angry patient.

Was he also flashing blue lights at you and making nee-nor sounds? I hate it when the fuckers do this.

I have previously reported this driver,
he drives one of these 'private hire' ambulances that frequent north london they are rented out by this company
http://www.oh-vehicleconversions.co.uk/
I emailed them with my concerns and was told i'd been forwarded to the director of the company who hires the vans from them, but have never had a reply. I've reported 2 separate drivers riding their vehicles now as they drive like utter idiots because they resemble and real ambulance

Private ambulance right? I've noticed that a disproportionate amount of them drive like twats, recently.

Some silly sod had an accident, so I have to move out of the way? Are those the rules now?

Horizontal deflection (=chicanes) is done relatively rarely in this country (much more common in Germany or NL). Is there much of it in Poole?
-
• #2962
there is actually, also many square builds with planters, often with a minute stretch of 'cycle lane' kerbside. the research shows they do nothing to reduce speeds as people race to get through a traffic signal- less location.
Bear in mind this is Poole though, responsible for the most successful out of town shopping centre in the centre of a town build ever constructed in Britain -
• #2963
Yes, chicanes just tend to be seen as a car handling challenge by many, just as vertical deflection has in the past been seen as a challenge to improve car suspension. :)

Ignore the bomb damage, it's an old Blitz photo. See all the concrete bollards have been knocked over? See how the tree lists because some penis drove into it?

They had the MK4 golf back then?

finding a contact detail was not very easy... spoke to some management bod and they're passing it on. I feel less than satisfied with this
How about Neil Berkett, CEO of virgin media? His email address can be found here http://www.ceoemail.com/
Had to contact re service problems after normal customer services were unable to help, received a very quick and helpful reply and followup. Let us know how it goes...

It's actually a Panzer tank in disguise...

We will investigate immediately Mark, we take this sort of complaint very seriously. Please accept my personal apologies.
This has actually made me feel better about the whole thing, will post any further information

They ought to take two seperate complaints about the same driver seriously.

Once outside work I saw a van driver loudly berating a traffic warden, he was screaming "Do you drive? Do you!!?"
Then he screamed off and actually mounted the pavement as he turned the corner. I emailed the firm and the boss phoned me and said GPS and the parking ticket confirmed the story and the driver was sacked. Sometimes responsible firms take action. They sure won't if they're not told.
But you're right, some companies couldn't give a flying fig, like that carpet and blinds bloke who wrote the sarcastic email back.

What's my standing after being spat at by a driver? I had given him lip beforehand (something along the lines of, "this is a bus lane and don't undertake me, you prick") but I've read things on this thread that have led me to believe that verbal sparring sort of renders my complaint invalid/unlikely to be followed up by the Met.
Ah, I didn't realise that they were flexible bollards.
