I love the way you said that,
I had removed the badge from a Mercedes
if you put it like that, I once added some aerodynamics of my own design to a Volvo passenger door with my foot, but it was to save me from intergrating into some railings....

Can anyone who has a fancy imaging software please see if you can confirm for me the license number and (if possible) the five digit taxi number from this picture:
http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/pp341/t-savvy/19032010185.jpg
or (even worse picture)
http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/pp341/t-savvy/19032010186.jpg
It might not be possible but I want to make a complaint about some idiotic driving and this is the best I could get while in motion on my phone :-(
Thanks.

It's always fucking mercedes, I had one yesterday in mile end, eye contact me and then do a 'U'ey with me maybe 10ft from his car in the wet, I lock I go down on my shoulder and head and knee..
What the fuck do they expect you to do? levitate? where the fuck or how the fuck are you supposed to stop? I have a road contact 'strip' (ie the amount of available rubber I am stopping/rolling on)on 23mm tyres...of maybe 20mm by 70mm...compare that to a mercedes wheel.
once I had stopped punching his side window and howling 'USE YOUR FUCKING EYES' at him like a banshee..he drove 20 yrds up the street and then verbally abused me...no I didn't get his number as I was rather shaken, hurt, wet and upset, mercedes 220e, navy blue, burdett road, asian driver in his late 40's.

03001231212 This is the Met Police for non-emergencies. I have used it a couple of times and keep the number stored in my mobile phone.
Out of curiosity, how does the reporting work? Can you just say "look out for so-and-so car with the following registration number" and describe what makes the driver a hazard? Or do they expect that you personally have been hit?

I'd be intereted in the process and what inforamtion you need.
I was knocked of by a taxi driver last night in front of the houses of parliament, i thought i had his registration plate memorised but i clearly dont as it doesnt make sense as a numberplate.
in fairness it was a situation i could have avoided, btu was not my fault. i was in the lane filtering right coming from the east to the west and the taxi driver had driven down the left filtering lane and pulled into the right, i was along side him at this point and continued rather than slamming the anchors on as i had nowhere else to go and he then pulled into my rear wheel and sent me flying.
I got up and asked him if taxi drivers were palying a new game this week; kill the cyclist, he tried blaming me, and pretty quickly gave up that line and apologised, asked if my bike was ok and if i was ok this was rather disarming and i gave up being angry. and was on my way.
When I got home and realised i managed to take half the skin of my knee and torn my gloves.
I'm not sure whether to report him, as a black cabbie it would affect his job, and everybody makes mistakes, but im pretty pissed off that i need to replace my gloves and me knee is sore today.

Got side-swiped about a month ago and the swine drove off as I lay in the street. Fortunately an off-duty copper saw it and chased him down! Unfortunately she got his reg number wrong (!) and now they can't trace the car. Caused probably £200 damage to my bike and clothes but after a month they say they still can't trace the guy. Not sure what to do as they keep saying they're working on it. I know they've got bigger things to worry about but this guy could have left me for dead.
I know his address though as he told us (me and the copper) and I've been round to check it's him. Do I let the coppers do their thing indefinitely or just go round and demand some cash off this guy? I've just been made redundant and need my bike fixed but he said it was his "sister's" bike and he wasn't insured. Sigh. Part of me wants him punished (points and fine etc) and part of me wants a new jacket and handle-bars/stem!! :)

if you know his address and you've been round, can't you get the right license plate number?

take photos of the car, call the police, then get crime number.
then call his insurance company, and they'll pay for the damage.
nothing hurt more than his insurance company paying out for your damage and increasing his premium.

@edscoble: I've been round and confirmed with a neighbour that a guy matching his description (black guy in a very white part of the city) lives there and a car matching the description is often there. Unfortunately the car was not there and he told me it wasn't his anyway. Hence I can't imagine it's insured. I might pop down to the cop-shop later and find out what's going on as it's been a month. They're dragging there feet and I reckon it's something to do with the off-duty copper who saw it and got the car reg wrong.
I was just reading those links when you posted that. Could be an option but I'm Brum based so might not be of help. Cheers, I'll report back when I've talked to PC Lazy-fooker.

I have just spoken with ncpm247.com
They have the audio of the driver swearing at me, I cannot be seen in the video footage but the car does swerve
Driver is currently suspended with a view to being sacked
Please please report dangerous fuckers on the roads
The CPS need to review the footage with a view to prosecution as well

My view is that roadsafe, making insurance claims, frightening them w civil suits or the hobo method are how we will deal best w these idiots.
Financial costs are what bother people most. Loss of livelihood is possibly a bit of a shitter.

note Mr Hoggarth doesn't appreciate people endangering his life; nor do I mine and I wish I had CCTV as I walk in London. The near misses from cyclists jumping red lights, riding on the pavement and the wriong way in one-way streets is unbelievable.
It's about time cyclists are taken to task about their illegal and inconsiderate road use.
The smug look on Mr H's face says it all.
