They just moved to Thorpe St Andrew, I don't really know Norwich very well. Used to live around Angel Road area. We're working on something at the moment for the new year so will keep you posted!

Are you guys playing at Sloughbottom Park tomorrow evening?
I have acquired on old Fuji MTB that needs a bit of work doing to it to get it ride-able: that is my task in the morning. I've also obtained some old coroplast signs: will they be suitable to make wheel discs from?
Regards
Gareth.
If I get this bike sorted, I'll see you all there around 7pm.

I'm afraid I've been moved to the Cromer office with work, so it's unlikely I'll be able to make polo anymore. Will try to get down for the end, but 5.30am starts will also be a pain in the arse.

I'm a little confused here; have the Polo sessions relocated from Sloughbottom Park to Thorpe St Andrew?
Or was I the only one to turn out this evening?

Any polo going on this week? May swing by if so.

• #311
Yes mate. Tonight. 6:30. Sloughbottom. Get in son!
-
• #312
I will poke my head in, is that the one by the Fat Cat?

Nah, Sloughbottom is just off Drayton Low Road. Got a message from Matt earlier saying:
Hey all.. We're going down sloughbottom this eve for polo.. You in? Need to get the numbers up.. 7/7.30. See you there? M
Should be a good, if not damp one. Get involved!
-
• #314
I'll come over but might not play, only have one bike and predict some crash if I do.

• #315
Just got the heads up on tomorrow nights polo session from Matt:
"Hey all.. If any of you are interested.. We are planning (weather permitting) to play polo tomorrow evening at sloughbottom park from around 7 till whenever.. We have plenty of mallets now. All welcome so spread the word and come along yourselves.. hit a ball, with a stick, on a bike. M"
Gonna try and make it. Anyone else?

Brilliant, cheers types. Would there be space for three Norwich lads to crash somewhere?
Anyone in Norwich want to form a team with me?

polo tonight

Anyone playing Polo at Sloughbottom tonight?
I have business to attend to on that side of the city until about 7pm this evening, so will swing by and spectate unless there's a spare hack to borrow, and then I'll have a go.

OK, I have another bike to mess about with and turn it into a polo hack.
Anyone want to sell/lend/give me a mallet, so I can practice in the garden

Come down and play!

Lois & I will be there to watch and maybe have a go as well.
I meant to tell you guys about this, but forgot .... I was told about it when I was down at the Cambridge tournement last weekend. .... Doh!
Is anyone playing/practicing/knocking about at Polo here in Norwich at the moment?
I have been down to the Sloughbottom Park MUGA on the previous 3 Tuesday evenings and not seen another soul. ... .... apart from the doggers in the carpark.
I have an old Universal MTB BSO that I am stripping down to convert into a Polo Hack, but I am still short of a mallet.
Now the weather is improving, and the evenings are drawing out, I don't mind hosting daytime weekend sessions from our house, which is adjacent to Pilling Park, but the MUGA is not floodlit.
Anyway here is a vid that I shot down in Cambridge last weekend.

I have got stuff to make mallets but no shafts. How much could you get 1.5m lengths of 7075/6061 straight Aluminium tubing fo Gareth? Not worked out what diameter would be best yet, suppose that is down to personal preferance.
Dunno whats going on with play at the minute. Sure it will pick up with the weather. Havent really had much to do with it since Caleb was born!

I can buy a 5 metre length of 3/4" X 16 swg 6061 ally for just under £6.
However, standard delivery and VAT kill it:
Ally tubing £5.67
Delivery £14.95
VAT £4.21
total £24.74So it's £5 a metre before we even start. Of course access to, and use of my workshop equipment and time would be free for the Norwich boys for this.

It's reasonably regular, but we don't have the same numbers you do so it falls through sometimes. Come on down though, would be good to meet up.
Next time you're organising an event I'm sure a bunch of us would be up for coming.
