Hey Sparky, PuP, etc.
Did you know that there are 3-4 guys that have a Polo knockabout on the flood lit court at Sloughbottom Park on Drayton Road every Tuesday evening from 7pm onwards. I was chatting with them last week and they would always welcome a few more participants.
P.S. I have some 75mm ΓΈ blue plastic water mains pipe for making a few mallet heads on it's way to me via Norwich Freegle.

Yeah, know them. Supplied them with the pipe for the mallets. Took Matt out on his first ever game in the summer. Was good!

Also 75 is a bit big. I always go for 63mm Gas or Water pipe. Its made from MDPE. Really like the black stuff but can't seem to find it. Jack and I went and got about 4 x 6ft lengths and a little length. Should have seen me biking down Norwich back streets with all that and a handsaw poking out of a messenger bag... Ducking the po po!

hahaha yeah Mark, a good night!

They all seem to be using freewheel - is that now common for polo?
-
• #284
A lot of people are free wheeling, with a front and rear brake hooked up to one lever these days. This is an evolving sport.

in other words wimping out!
man up, go fixed and brakless! haha -
• #286
Just thinking - I've got a rear double fixed aerotrack on order from CRC. If I was going to use it for polo too it'd prob make sence to get the fixed/freewheel version eh?
But then, I don't really want to run a rear brake. :/

Polo tonight? In a bit? Sloughbottom Park? Call me, or see you there about 7. There's mallets so you don't need one.

I set out to join you guys playing Polo last night, I've just converted an old MTB to SS as a Polo hack, but I got side tracked on the way down by a call from my friend who had lost her dog .... ... spent 2 hours in the cold and dark up on Mousehold only to find the mutt had made it's own way home and was waiting on the doorstep.

Hey guys,
Is polo a regular thing in Norwich? My folks live up here, if I'm up here again I'd love to come and play. We also play in Cambridge Tuesday nights and all day Sunday, if you're up for it come visit!
Anyone up for some late night car park bombing tonight?
Polo, tricks and beer! Sound good?
