  • Yes due to various happenings and a chance meeting, I ended up being loaned a bike by Dani to play polo on. The Prima has fantastic handling and geometry in my opinion and I love playing polo on it.
Dani is a very generous man and I have ended up keeping the bike which I'm very happy about.
The shop is a really sociable place so pop by for a coffee if you're in the area.

  • Cytech?

  • Please explain why this matters.

I am not sure why it matters to you that it matters to me where products are manufactured.

But seeing as you rightfully demanded an explanation, here goes.

I know that some factories in Malaysia and Vietnam and Tunisia have rather poor working conditions. The majority of Taiwanese and Chinese factories are better. Also the quality of steel tends to be better from Taiwanese factories.

If the frames are sourced from a crappy factory where the staff are outsourced from some poverty stricken environment and paid shit wages, perhaps I am not be so keen to buy one.

Also, some factories such as the one in Tunisia are set up by places like Walmart to avoid having to pay duty on bicycles to Europe, I am opposed to the huge anti dumping duties to Europe but I am also opposed to large or small corporations bypassing it.

This is briefly, why it matters to me.

  • Ah, bleeding heart...

  • Cytech?

    sadly no...

  • Ah, bleeding heart...

I know. Ethics, I wish they'd fuck off.

  • Taiwan I'd think

    This ^.

Ethics or ethnics? Just want to make sure it's not a spelling mistake.

    Simple but effective.

  • Ah, bleeding heart...

Perfectly valid reasons in my book.

I have bikes manufactured in the Far East, too, but if I bought one now, I'd want it to be manufactured more locally.

    Whatever floats your boat.

  • sadly no...

    Alien warriors take many forms.

  • I myself have only joined this forum today, for the sole purpose of telling you I own a Foffa bike. Just thought i would say i have found the advertising income from Danny to be great. I really like the money, and it has served me well over the last year. Personally I think I am enthusiastic but not too over the top. Danny is a really nice guy and very passionate about what he does. I'm happy with the money I got, and it beats being poor. A few people I know are poor, and they fall apart in a day. :)
    Fixed.

Yeah it's a spelling mistake, I meant ethnics. Thanks.

  • Is there any beer left?

  • I bought one of the refurbished bikes from Foffa a few months ago and am completely satisfied with the bike and couldn't be happier with the the service I received before and after I bought it. The refurbished frame was in excellent condition and looks great, the new parts (everything but the frame) are good quality and the whole bike was tastefully put together. The price was very reasonable too.

Dani went beyond the call of duty to ensure that the bike was set up how I wanted it. He was almost fanatical about checking everything was perfectly adjusted when I revisited the shop after a few days of riding the bike.

I reckon Foffa is great addition to the London bike scene.

  • whatever happened to their loony tunes psychotic mechanic, the one who abused people both by phone and online, the one who set up fake accounts and tried to participate in identity theft?

  • didn't they fire him? or so i heard

  • what was psycho cunt called, was it macpherson?

does he use the hacked2 account on here and is he a total cunt or just a fucking huge gash on the face of humanity?

  • Foffa gush.....

    Another Foffa gush.....

Either Hippy or Velocio; can you confirm if these people are the same as any Foffa person or not?

Seems odd that we would get two very simliarly set out reviews from people who have 3 posts between them.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

+1 should have said this instead of being a wise guy.

  • the bikes were horrible at first but they appear to have gotten much better... apart from those horrible cranks. the last thing that needs to be done to make them into a very nice singlespeed is to put a pair of the lasco cranks from velosolo on instead. (imo of course)

He sure seems indeed like an utter knob, but has now left foffa so perhaps keep him out of the thread? If he's not there anymore what's the point giving them stick for it still?

  • just wanted it to be clear and out there that this chap appears to be an utter cunt and that actually foffa are much better without him

also if he comes onto this thread people will know its mr macpherson and that he is an utterly spineless idiotic cunt who could not put a bike together safely, even if his own grandchild was going to use it

just to be clear, hacked2 = macpherson = utterly incompetent = bullying cunt

  • I hear what you are saying Irish Mick about the cranks. Which is why we ve got 200 of these bad boys on their way!

Also we've been working in the last few months to upgrade the calipers, levers, pedals and saddle so wait and see what the new Prima is gonna look like.

Like all things it takes ages to get it right!
