  • it was just slagging it off.
all i've heard lately is good so it probably deserves a new thread anyway.

  • say sofa with no teeth "foffa"

  • Considered starting this thread myself..

Anyway from what I remember there was much mockery of the original bikes (converted old road frames powdercoated in trendy colours with huge clearances etc).

Then Foffa came on the forum and apparently took on board some criticism. Haven't seen any of his latest stuff personally so can't give informed comment but each bike shop should have it's own thread to discuss it's merits (and/or bad points).

  • WIcksie and kingcutter are sponsored Foffa riders... Danny seems like a nice guy, cheapish frames, I'm sure they'll find a niche in the market somewhere... It's a bike shop... That's it...

goes off to start Brixton Cycles thread, cuz there isn't one and it's the best fucking bike shop in London

  • I myself own a Foffa bike. Just thought i would say i have found it to be a great bike. I really like the steel frames and it has served me well over the last year. Personally I think they look good but not to over the top. Danny is a really nice guy and very passionate about what he does. I'm happy with what I got for the money and it beats having one of those "Create" bikes. A few people I know have had them and they fall apart in a day. :)

  • Nice one, Em.

  • Why not, VL? Why not?
I'm sure some will be happy with the bikes. Like I told Ed before, they're good for students who know shit about simple mechanics, as long as they don't fall apart of course. Unfortunately we can't decide about the quality just yet. Need more reviewers.

  • I've been considering getting one of these for a pub beater and give it a chance. Does anyone know where the frames are manufactured? I always like to find these things out before I dive in.

    Cheers,

    BG.

  • Taiwan I'd think

  • Does anyone know where the frames are manufactured?

    Please explain why this matters.

  • Provenance, my dear Sir, almighty provenance...

  • Of course, I didn't realise we were talking about antiques.

  • bit harsh calling Joe an 'antique'…

  • probably just some unresolved racial issue going on there...

  • bit harsh calling Joe an 'antique'…

  • bit harsh calling Joe an 'antique'…

He's much younger than some of the parts he puts on his bike

  • I know it's his surname but 'foffa' is an inelegant name for a bike bidniss. IMO! IMO! IMO! IMO!

  • Please explain why this matters.

    Why should he?

  • Why should he?

    Because I asked him.

  • Tell him to do one, blackgriffin.

  • Would fappa be a better name?

  • Hi all,

I just wanted to say a few things and let the audience judge for themselves.

We have been in the industry for over 3 years but only recently set up our shop front and website. We provide a service for those that don't have the time or the knowledge to build up a single speed or fixed gear bike themselves (although if you do know how to build your own bike, have the right tools and have plenty of time to search for the best deals online I am aware you can save some money).

We take care of everything, from going through the different options with the customers, suggesting functionality over aesthetics, supplying the parts and building bikes up to the desired standard.

We have Cytech mechanic certificates here, always try to give a few maintenance tips before the customer takes the bike away with them and offer a 12 months warranty on all our bikes, including a 5 years warranty on our new frames/forks and a free service.

Issues can arise due to the mechanical nature of bikes, but we have always tried our best to provide excellent post-sale service, have always listened to people's feedbacks. So much so we are always looking for better suppliers, we no longer work with our previous mechanics and over the years have made the following improvements:

    • 2 brakes instead of one
    • Purpose and pro built properly dished rear wheels with wider rims to deal with pot holes
    • Puncture protection tires
    • Higher quality freewheels
    • Better quality chains.
    • Better pedals
    • New quill stems
    • New cranksets
    • Better quality BB's
    • Powder coated frames and more..

Also just to clarify, we don't sponsor Wicksie or Kingcutter, we have simply provided them with one of our bikes to try and give us their opinions and improve our range.

We are always open to feedback and welcome each bike affecionado with some good ideas to swing by for a coffee and a chat. Or if you are just curious you are more than welcome to come down to take one of our bikes for a spin and let the bike speak for itself (that doesn't mean we are sponsoring you!).

    All the best,

    Dani

  • Or Floppa.

Floppa's Choppers has a ring to it.

  • Foffa Fappers? Wicksie and KC?
