Atleast for car-license here in Holland, it's standard to have such a part in your test for a while now. It's even allowed to use a satnav, although not recommened.
Don't know about motorcycles though, but I guess that's the same.Pretty logical, I think. Otherwise you'll only be more focussed on your examinator and where he's directing you, instead of already planning your route ahead.
Frankly, you are really going to struggle to pass a test on that. Or just to move off the spot.

Mr villian, I would love to meet you and chat.
Only self cancelling indicators I remeber was on an old yammy xj. But you are allowed thse loud alarms. Don't worry we all make mistakes take it and learn from it.

yamaha virago 535 has self cancelling, after about 15 secs. Thing is, are you more likely to fail for forgetting to turn them off after turning, or them cancelling themselves while you're waiting to turn and you turning without a signal?
-

I reckon 15 seconds is enough to fail you. Get into the habit of cancelling them.

Some Beemers have/had self cancellings too. Really stupid idea it seems to me. You soon get the auto cancel built into your brain - self cancellers just bugger it up!
-
• #534
Just get into the habit of checking it's off as you ride along, a bit like a nervous twitch, but better than failing over not turning em off.
for me it's always turn/maneuver - change up - check indicator

Sporty has self cancellers, as do all Hogs I believe.
They work by detecting tilt so only cancel after a turn onto/off of a main road, moving onto the motorway or overtaking you don't tip over enough for them to cancel. -

The whole being of a Harley prevents it tilting.

Always thought it was something in the speedo (distance) as you can sit at lights for longer than that,

Bugger me - a red of of those was the fist bike I had after passing my test - it was bloody epic.
Bought it for £800, sold it for £850 in 1991. Kev's signature doesn't add that much for me.

mine was the black/red/white - rare, apparently.
