I loved those Gixers when i was young. Dream bike was a 7/11 streetfrighter

"Was"? I'd love one now. I later had an 1100 for a while too. That was just silly. Very silly.

Beautiful bike the 1100, brutal but beautiful

Never did understand why they didn't fit a brown saddle as standard.

My second road legal bike was a GSXR-400, Actually prefered it to the rvf 400 i traded it in for

Corking machine. Never rode it, but shared a house with someone who had one. Seemed to go like a scorched cat and stop on a 6p. "Revvy", I think it was fair to say.

Yeah it was awesome, great machine to learn how to get your knee down on

Suspect I'd have lobbed it through a hedge well before then.
Having "sanded down" the GSX750 and "decorated the saddle" on the 1100, I got a 900 Trident (which I sprintified with a faring). Probably a life-extending move on my part.
See now, a new 'Blade is about the same size and weight as a CBR400, near'nuff. That can't be a recipe for a long comfortable retirement. And yet...just a test ride....can't do any harm...can it?....

Oh yeah, was just on a Honda train of thought. You have to say that the current crop of pocket-rocket 900-1100s are just stunning power-to-weight engineering, as well as staggering handling and braking etc. You have to wonder how far things can be pushed.
On a rather different tack, quite fancy a spin out on a Rocket III.....

not floated my boat.
Still working on my nc30, and noting that is more fun with 53 bhp than 150.

Not sure it will really float mine, but kinda coming at the power/weight thing from the other end. Know from one that used to commute with me (TRI MPH plate!) that they really shift and handle pretty well too. You know, variety is the spice and all that.
NC30 - that'll be sought after when it's done...

not when i'm finished with it a satin black finish will be best me thinks as well as a brillabt way to hide repaired panels.

OK. I'm not a fan of Gulf colours, but I wouldn't kick it out of bed.

OK. I'm not a fan of modern things necessarily, but I wouldn't kick it out of bed.

Benedict Radcliffe's bstardized ESB. What's the law on that then?
-
• #568
Lovely isn't it. It was at the BFF art show.
no front brake, no registration, no VED disc, no way in hell it's legal. -
• #569
Yup. that is a motorcycle, so lacking rather a lot of stuff to be on the road legally.

All those 80s sportsbikes look so dated now don't they. So I suppose they'll be the first to be collectable.
Never floated my boat to be honest. Plastic with writing all over it does not a good looking bike make.
And that BMW^ is a pig. -

I'm not sure that looks was the main criteria for purchase at the time even - it wasn't mine. But when you rode one - stand by! At the time, it was essentially the space age between your legs.

The original Gixer 11 was such a brutal looking and riding machine - thats why i loved it - like something the gooseman out of mad max would have riden! On that note i dont think we have had a Laverda Jota in here yet . . .

And heres the Gooses Kwak
And a pretty cool replica

The bikes in Mad Max are what really got me into motorbikes. Managed to get into see it aged 14, Toecutter's Z1000 especially.
slight sinking feeling even now that may have let it go a bit cheap.
Then again, I did lob it round a hairpin and wore the main crank down to the bearing. Loads sparks (it was at night) and a really neat hole through the faring and cover!
