Jealous! My beemer is going to be off the road for a long long time. Everything I take apart reveals another disaster area.
Theres not that much to go wrong.

I rode a motorbike for the first time today.
Fuck this cycling shite.

I assume you beemer folks know about this lot in camden:

Seem like nice, friendly folks. They'll do whatever I think, from a service to a cafe build or whatever. Good to know for all you airheads.

True but I've decided its nut and bolt fix up time. Various non bike complications but hopefully it'll be rolling and finished by spring.

thanks for the link B. i had not heard of them before now. they seem to make charming bikes without ripping the soul out of the original article.

Ahhh....I'm thoroughly twistied out. Just got back from a 6 dayer - London, Reims, Lyon, Grenoble, Cannes, Monaco, Menton, Cuneo, Annecy, Troyes and back.
We went over the Tende, Agnel, Telegraph, Izoard, Galibier and Madelaine in the same day. Awesome.

Looking at a a guzzi 750....looking at changing the front end for a later upside down forks and maybe a cafe racer style seat inkeeping with the original tank.
Or look at a new cafe style belt tank.....or am I just pissing in the wind as I have enough projects and should finish them first.

will you have a bike ready for the france jaunt?
bump
either 30/31 July or 6/7 August to go to France? If we can agree one of those weekends, I'll get on with planning a route and looking for ferry/Eurostar deals.
Vote for a date (I can do either) and let's pick one. Once we do, I'll sort out the details and make bookings - so please put your name down only if you're serious about coming. Open to all above and anyone else who's interested.

BlueQuinnI'd prefer the 7th. It's the Herne Bay ride, but motorcycling through France sounds nicer. And if Loic is coming we won't have to learn French :-)

OK, will look at this over the weekend. Adroit, can you definitely not make the second weekend? We can't really go with Loic, not because he's French, but because it was with him in the pub that I hatched this plan.
Will get an idea of prices and route together.

Actually now both weekends are off for me. My Aunts 90th celebrations have been planned with no regard to my desire to go to France on a motorbike with you lot!

BTW, sorry to be a pain but I will not be able to get involved if the project turned out to be based on too much mileage/far distances and supposed that I should be shit faced at work on monday... Can't afford doing this kind of adventures at the moment (work stress and other complications, blabla...), but would wish you guys a great time!
