I think I'd have so much more fun on a bike like that
Turn your Vitus into one!

That one looks even better :-/

About time I got myself a 29er.
-
• #4155
Fixed off road Pete?
-
• #4156
But then nobody will hear my ridiculously loud freehub!
-
• #4157
Shorter wheelbase i guess, more fun, my Vitus has no toe overlap at all, even with big plastic toe clips, making a issue out of nothing as usual.
long term plan if i keep it is to rebuild the wheel with a flip flop hub so i can ride it fixed
I'd shred this with a big grin on my face...

Don't think i've posted this here. Gotta jump at every opportunity to show off your bike..
First 29er experience. Chain is yet to to fall off. Now if only my knees would allow me to gnar for real. Starting to hate SPDs. Eggbeaters for float?

Time ATAC.
-
• #4160
eggbeaters are pretty great for MTB stuff, just shit for all else
-
• #4161
quick mock up sans wheels
weighs about 6kg already :)
Looking for a bargain basement wheelset for this (with a braking surface?). gonna run 2.2" tyres.
still undecided on fixed/free so show me what you have!

• #4162
Just go fixed, less brakes to buy.
-
• #4163
^^ Polo bike?
-
• #4164
no, but the cranks and forks came from there.
-
• #4165
Did you manage to get the dropouts sorted out then?
-
• #4166
I'm tempted to get the charge sissor forks which will clear 2.2's and put them on this
The frame will already do 2.2's, then get some big old knobblies and go off road
-
• #4167
I'd say go for it, only about 50 quid.
Had no idea those also took 2.2s will have a look out for a leader.
-
• #4168
on one 26'er forks will clear 2.5 and give you the option of a front disc brake, which in turn will be way more useful off road than the ability to barspin.

it takes a 29er wheel, but have similarish length as the one above.

I think a photo of your much missed kona unit is needed about now.

29" 2.1 ignitor. -

That must look ridiculous with 26"
Why, it's basically the same as yours but fixed. If you're trying to set up a 29er like a BMX you're already doing it wrong and you'd be better off with one of these
