That was great! Proper snow in London! Just cycled work (Covent Garden) to home (Kentish Town) and it's crazy out there. Cars sliding all over the place. It was fun though, especially as I didn't fall off.
This was my bike just after arriving home:

So the main roads ar OK then. I'll be heading from fulham to stoke newington in about 10 mins. It'll either be fun or scary. can't wait.

Thanks Re-cycled, I actually live in Dartmouth Park so Tuffy P is my nearest tube. What do you ride?

I'm doing Holborn to Dulwich in a bit, should be fun. If its terrible I'll just walk the bike I guess...

Yes, basically, but there were cars spinning out in Camden earlier on. I was fine though. Overall more fun than scary. I want to go out again but getting covered in snow does tend to make you pretty cold, I'm making some tea to warm me up now.

I've had a report that it's mainly OK from town down to SE23 with possibly only the last half mile unrideable. But the quantity of stuck/sliding cars may be a problem.

south east is a nightmare. buses etc appear to be off too

Cool, there's no snow in this part of Holborn at the moment, it's melted straight away, so definatlely going to head off in a sec. 26" x 2.15 tyres ftw.

I'm your end of Twisden Road (just off Chetwynd Road) so just over the cross roads. Nice, not seen it though, will have to keep an eye out for you.

I've got to ride down from Dulwich to Brixton, anyone done that area since the snow? I'll probably just go for it as the buses and trains will be screwed

Just been out fixie skidding round arsenal. Gated side streets were iced up over the weekend so adding a layer of fresh snow makes things interesting.
Wouldn't want to have to commute anywhere in this but its great for a spin around the block and practicing my weaker side skids.
The cars round here are sensibly crawling along at about 5mph and main roads are slushy by perfectly rideable.Get home safe y'all

zero roads in dulwich have been gritted over the past few days, so beware of ice under the snow on most streets. Also lordship lane and brixton high street are mad with traffic jams at the moment apparently, so assuming that asl boxes and bike lanes will have gone out the window it will probably be easier to get off and walk in some parts.

the train was fine, but the roads in south london look screwed. Traffic v slow everywhere, lots of slush, plenty of slippery stuff to come off on though, so I'm very glad I trained it. Embankment is free and clear, and traffic is doing the usual 40mph though...

One of them new-fangled homing bikes eh ?
Tsk, I dunno,
Whatever will they think of next. -

doesn't really need to be said, but be careful out there peeps. broken pelvis is no way to start the holiday season.

The traffic is now flooding onto my road (Crystal Palace Rd.) and stacking up at junctions. I'm about to go out on a skip-scavenge but I am not confident I can go for more than half a mile in this.

whats involved in a "skip-scavenge", please?
I don't want to leave my bike at work. :(
