@eyebrows - sounds like a pretty sweet ride. I'm doing a charity ride from london to paris in 24 hours in a couple of weeks but might be up for a slower paced version later into the summer.. I'll keep my eye on this.

oof! 24hrs!
good luck pal! It's not actually too bad.. You do it with a partner so parts of the ride are kind of a 'tag-team' effort. I'll get a good amount of rest on a coach taking me to the next transition.
Also, it coincides with the final day of le tour so I'll get a chance to watch Cav win another stage :P

I got in touch with furious tiles about this, but no answer yet. If nothing I will ride geared to Brighton solo and possibly back. Metalheadz in the evening. Gonna be a fine day tomorrow.

Saturday... I'm planning to take the alt Brighton route, leaving London Fields at 6am-ish, as my last ride before Dunwich, if anyone fancies it. Probably sans gears and leaving out a certain hill.

If I get time tonight, I'll try and plot something interesting and Kent-y for you.

Ready made 100 miles which included the TNRC Exdown hill and a few other lumpy bits - http://www.action.org.uk/route/225873 It's a circular route so you could start / finish anywhere along it.
I also did this route recently (Great Kent Ride) which is shorter at 60 miles, is less hilly and is a bit further out but it was a really nice route (IMO) - http://www.cycle-route.com/routes/Ashford_Loop-Cycle-Route-978.html -

Hmm looks like Sunday morning is more likely now

right...was planning on trying to conquer the parental visit ride tomorrow, going south-eastish out of london towards e. sussex and through Tunbridge Wells. Has anyone been along these roads? I'd like to stay off the mains as much as possible, although google maps tells me that some of the roads I've chosen may be rather steep...any advice? After beckenham is virgin territory for me.

Anybody who knows me want to join me for a little fixed-roll late-ish tomorrow (saturday)? Was thinking of doing the E for Ecstacy route, about 30 miles, to return to London around dusk. Into pausing en route for a cheeky pint. Taking a train to Chingford from Liverpool Street, you can oyster it.

We were thinking of doing a bit of the E route, bit of the Dunwich, ride or train home. Could get later then dusk so.
