Awesome :) Long rides a-plenty coming up? Me and Andy are trying to arrange a Paris weekend ride at some point over the next month. I've fallen in love with gears this summer.

*and if this materialises, I'll give you a shout. And anybody else for that matter.

king.
long rides and 40k blasts.. the joy of summer.
After 1 ride i nearly sold my fixed.
very, very nearly. -

Tell me about it. There's a lovely 30 mile route to stratford-upon-avon from my house, through countryside and lanes for almost the entire way. Warwickshire is good for that. I'd love to bring my Tifosi to London, but it's just going to get nicked. The thought of leaving it in the shed all winter just hurts though :(

also, that bike is just so fast.
Whilst driving around your area, i was super envious.
its no wonder you're a cyclist.
stunning...on a final note, anyone know how the A30 is?
i think i'm about to have 2 days on the fucker. -

That is the least conclusive post ever. I've proven nothing. It could be horrible. But, at that particluar point, not bad.

its a mix of single and dual...
70mph scares the living fuck out of me. -
• #235
Hmm, in my experience, you get the occasional fuckwit on dual carriageways who don't think bikes belong there. My last one was a close pass with "Get in single fileeeee" Strange, since we were in single file.

very, very nearly.you'd never do that to the gh2 would you henry?
i actually NEED a geared bike.
i think i might go for something on here when i get payed in two weeks -
• #237
Me too, right now I'm thinking about selling the Holdsworth after having a road bike, it's not right having a bike in the shed that won't get ridden.
especially when it now got a new groupset and handlebar.

shock!hub gears?
god, your endless stream of new bikes, old bikes, different this and that is so confusing!
do you have a fixed bike? -
• #242
yeop...
tis called harry:
no longer has those bloody stupid bars- has midges now.
In my defence- My body proportions are fucking stupid.
I genuinely can't find bikes that fit and are comfortable.
The Cannondale is the first one I can remember.and one day- I'll get my arse to Cycle whisperer.
yup hub gear and new cranks on GH2
Spent my entire months budget on it too, well that and a deposit for uni accomodation..
plus I like building stuff. -
• #243
silly me!
i saw it in current projects.
its nice :)
anyway, back to organising what sounds like an aweseome ride :) -
• #244
It's unbeliveable how much lighter those ultra torque crankset are.
have just fitted them on the road bike, can't believe that the BB only weight as much as a packet of crisp.

i think the ferry thing is the winner....
cheaper too.
the diepe/ newhaven route sounds the best- it just adds a day.Definitely go for the ferry. No question. Do you want to go from Dover? There are a couple of other ferry connections, too, although most are longer.
Sounds like a great trip. Wish I could come.

• #246
maybe you can oli- its been rescheduled so i can think about a route.
-
• #247
Shoreditch to Cambridge, following this route, on Saturday morning, leaving 5:30am. Let me know if you want to come along.
I'll be fixed, and I'm doing it with two geared friends.

One small change to avoid the A10 completely, as it's a shitty, shitty road.
I'm being blind, but where is the difference?
-
• #249
You cross over the A10 at Standon, rather than go along it.
You're still on the A10 from Shoreditch to Bruce Grove and on the roundabout. ;)

Ah, I've seen it now. Yeah, makes sense
amazing. chucked a shorter stem on and it fits perfect.
