Just bought 2 packs of Greggs mince pies for £2.20 on Tottenham court road, they were saying the offer is finishing though.
Tasty pie though, thanks for the reco pie thread!

Missus-ru made the first batch at the weekend. I can probably say it here with impunity, but her pastry, while good, was not quite on a par with my favoured Sainsbury's Sweet Pastry. Mince filling superb though.
She has, however, agreed to try out eyebrows marzipan topping (star/angel/xmas tree)on the next batch which I am very much looking forward to.
In other news: Lidl Stollen - 7/10. Ever so slightly dry and could with a bit more fruit, but pretty impressive.

Just had some Sainsbury's bakery ones. Good, sweet pastry, much better than any packet ones I've had. Still not as good as Greggs though.

I really liked the Sainsbury's Taste The Difference pies I had last week... Might've been slightly better than Greggs...
Sounds like an excuse for an intimate (i.e. just me) A/B mince pie group test...

Great, looking forward to a decent group test write-up
Had some Asda ones today, a guy at work brought 24 in, obviously they were a bit meh compared to Gregg's but I still smashed a load, whilst eating these I was reading about mince pies in the Metro. Apparently in medieval times they used to have actual minced meat in there, sounds like a win to me

Mrs B has fallen under the thrall of Sauron's even-more-evil brother, Gregg. She has already been granted her own Postcode and Spain has threatened to annexe her if she expands any further.

Killed a box of Tesco's last night with almost the full tub of brandy cream. #weightweenie

brandy cream is for middleweights - brandy butter for the full artery clogging experience, or stilton, mmm stilton..

Great mince pies, AND customer service. Shame that they spelt one "1", but hey.

I'm slightly more concerned with them spelling 'nice' as 'nicw'. :)

Just broke my mince pie virginity for the year. Was a pretty crap mini one from work, but it has set off the cravings nonetheless... need more! Still yet to get to a Greggs. Needs to be done asap I think.
Fingerblasted 4 x Greggs mincies in work yesterday and to hell with the pre-xmas detox
