Nice to meet the new faces and, Oliver, a pleasure as always :)

How was the food at Black Cat?

Sam and I had the burger, which was very good. Shelby and Lina had the curry, so I'll leave it to them to give a verdict.
Lovely to see everyone.

The curry was excellent, and the portion was massive for like £6. Excited to go back and try everything else on the menu!

does anyone have a vegan recipe for homemade on the go energy/power bars?
like an oaty type thing thats easy and quick to make/bake,THANKS
-
• #2790
There's loads out there.
Don't bake to retain nutritional values. I like throwing shit in a bowl, mixing and making balls/bars for back pocket.Slow release:
Oats
Peanut butter
Dried fruit of choice: dates, apricots, etc
Seeds or chopped nuts.Or for quick release sugar high - just mix apricots, and or dates or other fruit into balls - fridge for a bit and wrap up.
Simple

Someone near me makes vegan cheese with nuts, and they look incredible. They have entered some sort of competition to win some funding to help start up so if you like there is a vote site here:

Also, I'll totally be trying that recipe there @Thrasher

Scott Jurek has a couple if I rememebr corrctly, I've not tried them but have tried his vegan burgers and they were ace so suspect his other stuff might be equally lovely. Loads of his recipies are online for free.

I used to make my own granola which was a piece of piss to make... oats, coconut, nuts, cinnamon plus anything else you have, with a healthy dose of Agave syrup... in the oven, flat on a baking tray for about 10 mins, give it a mix so it bakes on both sides, then back in the oven for another five mins and you're done. Really nice for the warmer mornings with some frozen fruit and yoghurt!

I haven't been and didn't even know it existed ... love North-east African food.
