Actually, why not post here... can anyone point me to a good vegan recipe that I can cook the day before serving to 10 people?
Ideally a reasonably mild curry, but would consider pretty much anything that bubbles away in a big pot. Last time I did a coconut, aubergine and bean curry. Something similar maybe, but not the same. I'll probably do daal as a side dish so main not too daaly.
I think I posted a the yogic mung bean & basmati stew recipe in here.
Looks a bit like green / brownish daal, tastes very different though.Or chili sin carne?

I cycled past there last night and that menu sounds amazing. I would do most things for Mexican food.

You can make vegan cheese substitutes. Generally involves cashew and pine nuts, can involve some fermentation.

Well, Caz can't make this Saturday so which upcoming Saturday works for people?
Hopefully a date Caz can make, cause up till now I've only seen pictures of parts of her anatomy:

Or, if you can't be bothered to make the cheese, Wholefoods has a fairly good selection you can try, most of which is cheaper than dairy. I tend to favour the mild ones or cream cheeses.

I'm willing to try that as I already make cashew nut cream. Have you tried anything yourself?

Try Vegusto or Vegourmet. I haven't tried the latter, but others have said that it's very tasty. Vegusto certainly is, but is also pricey. In London, it's now stocked by quite a few health food shops. Also Vx in King's Cross.
vegan cheese is never going to be a true simulacrum for dairy cheese so once people stop bitching about how it "doesn't taste like x/y/z" that they want it to and accept it for what is it, it becomes a totally different and delicious world. i was creeped out by nutritional yeast looking like fish food for a long time before i just got over it and now i eat it straight from the tin. i'm addicted to it. it's magical.
without any shadow of a doubt this is my favourite vegan cheese:
you can get it in VX which oliver kindly linked above. bruce those recipes look brilliant, thank you for them -

someone i know once paid homage to nutritional yeast (affectionately known in this house as "nooch") with an "in nooch we trust" picture. i'll see if i can find it
