  • Anything less than full mudguards with extra flaps is anti-social.

I'll probably be the one slightly offish person with full mudguards.

There may be a few downright rude RaceBladers.

    Everyone else will be sociopathic.

I am usually sociopathic, tomorrow I will be rude, I dont think I will ever be slightly offish though...

  • Fortunately I'll be at the rear anyway...

C'mon Sam you were at the front even on your Brompton, I still chuckle at that...

  • Back then I was at the 'peak' of my power. Been very inactive bike wise for the past two months since.

The poor Brompton is in the dark and cold of the garage, folded up and stuffed into a large garden waste bin bag :0(

May well decide to ride up, in which case I should be there for the arrival of the Victoria train, if not remember I will be in a few mins after you lot. All depends if my boy decides to hold an all-rave in his bedroom like he has done for the past 4 nights.

  • Is anyone planning to meet me at Smithfields for the ride out?

On the subject of mudgaurds; I'm afraid I don't have any either. They're now on my christmas list.

  • i have no mudguards and due to a friend joining us for this one will ride the Copacetic. she has not seen any action since freewheeling down Leith Hill on the last TNRC. if my friend bails last minute then may come on gears though am thinking fixed is most likely.

in any case, none of my bikes have mudguards. or anxiety about the same.

    1. Sam (see you at St Mary Cray)
    2. BMMF (fully mudguarded heavy geared audax)
    3. pistolero (see you out there)
    4. ?tika?
    5. ?plurabelle?
    6. Sean (riding out)
    7. Gav
    8. claus
    9. Gustav
    10. Sammy
    11. jonny
    12. purple_mj
    13. lucky7 (meet you guy's at smc)

I will meet you guy's at smc since I live not to far away from there.

  • nice one robin, catch ya there dude

  • Whooooaaaaah, an epic ride of two halves. Wet & dry, like a fine abrasive.

I was chatting to jonny as we descended into the hail that stripped our facial skin off, whilst dealing with knobend drivers passing too close as we were buffetted by 50mph crosswind gusts, and suggested everyone involved today deserves a SKHA.

    Congratulations all round.

  • Who'd've thought Exedown was even shorter in daylight. I'm still not impressed :p

  • Good ride, lol bmmf was certainly right about the facial!
At least the weather was good most of it.
Thanks for the lift home Sam.

  • I actually enjoyed the hail and rain at the end. Though I was glad it was just the last few miles.

The Exedown was definitely shorter in the daylight

Good to see everyone again, looking forward to the next one.

  • Thanks everyone. My teeth have just stopped chattering. Soup is the answer to everything, it seems. See you next time.

  • Lovely time, good to see old and new faces. Thanks to Sam and Scarlet for dragging us out of bed on Sunday. Hot shower and warm food means that everything is now fine and dandy.

  • woo i'm nackered. Was nice to meet everyone today and it was a great ride. I actually rather enjoyed the weather too. Soup and shower sorted me out too!

    Sorry for crashing!

See you all at the next one hopefully

  • Nice to see everyone out there this morning. Sorry I didn't say hello to people I hadn't met before, I'm like that.

Ashamedly I have to admit that after leaving you lot I gave up riding into that wind and hail and let the train take the strain fom Shoreham (3 miles from Eynsford) to Sevenoaks. I ducked into the station on the off chance, and there was one due in literally two minutes, cutting four miles off my route.

Still, 52 miles today for an unfit loser, can't be all bad.

did we do Exedown today, I didnt notice...

Dont be so harsh Sam, a loser thats unfit maybe but an unfit loser no way...
It was good to see you again, and all the regulars and new faces, a great ride again well done all. Thanks Scarlett for pulling it together, you fat trackie cake muncher...(sorry I have had a couple of glasses of Chianti couldnt help it...)

  • God, wine! Why do I have no wine? I'm an idiot.

  • I had to go out on my hack bike again to join family at a city farm - realised then my legs and lower back were toast.

Forgot to say thanks to Sam for leading us round his neck of the woods, and well done to all the (SM)TNRC virgins who endured a particularly gruelling introduction to the whole caboodle.

I got massive cravings for red wine too, and picked up a bottle earlier. Man can't live on instant protein drink alone.

  • Do not undo all your good work by over consuming alcoholic beverages.

  • Thanks Scarlett for pulling it together, you fat trackie cake muncher...(sorry I have had a couple of glasses of Chianti couldnt help it...)

    :D

    fatty

Respect for riding out in the weather today. It was a bit of a shocker.

  • It's hard work carrying the extra 3kg. Weirdly, my waist has shrunk, but I am nonetheless a fat trackie cake muncher, it's true.

I don't think drinking in moderation is going to undo the good work. I'm training on more days than I'm boozing. And it's not going to harm the weight gain programme either ;)

You don't get many chances to practise bike handling of that nature; and for that, I'm grateful to Jehovah.

forgot to give you all my pamphlets
