  • I think both DPD and Parcelfarce do sometimes leave with neighbours.

    officially they don't.

  • Playing with my note now. Loving it so far. Just would rather it came with the latest Android.
Can predictive text be turned off on swipe?

  • Yeah, trawl the settings.

  • officially they don't.

    Yet another Scobleism.

Will you try to deliver my parcel again?

*If we were unable to deliver your parcel safely directly to you, the driver will have left a “We called to deliver / collect your parcel” card. Please read this card as it will tell you whether:

We will deliver the parcel again tomorrow.
Your parcel has been left with a neighbour.
Your parcel has been taken your local Post Office branch.
Your parcel has been returned to our depot.*

  • Sure enough, DPD "we missed you" card.

Boo, I want my new toy!

  • HTC one.. YAY or Nay?

  • HTC One X?
    HTC One S?
    HTC One V?

You might be able to get them to deliver to your workplace, if you have your passport or driving licence with you for ID.

  • Too many cases of fraud apparently, has to be to the address to which my debit card is registered.

I'll get it in the end.

  • Finally got ICS on my Razr! Rooted and looking good so far......

  • I suppose tomorrow I'll have to decided on Nexus or One X, reckon it's just down to personal preference.

  • My mate Steve has the One S. I think it looks pretty lovely without being massive like the X.

Having said that; get the Nexus or wait for the next Nexus. It makes sense.

I'm on the soak test for the official release - was meant to come through yesterday, but didn't.

soak test is five days - so official release should be next week (at last)

  • I really do like my S3, but it does sort of annoy me the size. I can't use it with one hand if I need to select something in the top left corner.

Other than that, it's amazingly fast, light, good battery life. I am however wondering, what on earth do people need a quad core phone for ? I've just been using it for facebook/foursquare/web/email/twitter really... I think I might have spent too much on a toy!

  • Faster processors mean you can use less battery power, its a strategy known as Rush to Idle. Multiple cores can be turned off when not needed and generally, 4 x 1GHz cores will be easier and cheaper to make than 1 x 4GHz core, especially as power consumption normally scales linearly with speed but quadratically with the voltage, and you need more voltage for higher speeds.

    Science thread>>>>

  • HTC One X?
    HTC One S?
    HTC One V?

Any. I was waiting for the best one out of the One's :P

  • Velocio likes the HTC One X. I don't like the fixed battery.

  • Velocio went back to his Galaxy Nexus 'cause his One X kept dropping calls didn't he?

  • Looking around for an "upgrade" on the second hand market to replace a bog standard HTC Desire. I'm looking at spending no more than £150 (cheaper the better) for something that will be a reasonable upgrade to last for 12 months until I can get something nice on a new contract. Thoughts?

  • Root the desire - saved £150 quid and £150 won't get you a better phone.

  • Agreed, I'm in the same position, I have a Desire and have been looking to upgrade. Sensations are going for £180-£240 and to me anything cheaper isn't worth the upgrade

  • Fair do's. I had problems rooting when I looked into it a few months back, but I'll take another stab at it :)

  • Saying that I just went on eBay and there's a scratched one going for £160 and some half decent one's for £170 Buy it Now, might be possible to get one for £150 on auction...
