  • Had a play with an S3 today briefly and although the hardware is nice, touchwizz is a fucking train wreck. If it were to have CM9 then it would be quite nice.

  • I'm using a different launcher on my S3, but some of the underneath touchwizz stuff is nice, if a little pointless.

  • Hmm now I want ICS. Tempted to install an alpha version of CM9 on my Desire Z. How buggy can it be...?

Using one from JIB sandwich, on my Z. little bit buggy, but ICS is so awesome. I'm going to try another one from Andromadus which is supposed to be quite stable.

  • The one I was using was buggy, laggy, and glitchy, but I've just found beta 13 by Jerl so I'm trying that.

I was also having a Gmail issue where it wasn't syncing despite having sync on. However there was no uninstall option for Gmail so didn't seem to be a way of fixing it.

  • Well my S3 finally turned up! The blue does look better than the white imho.

Now that I have more than 100meg of storage (old Nexus 1), what are the best apps to get ?

Jerl Beta 13 is good. I think majority of system data backup on Ti backup from CM7 to CM9 beta was incompatible so ended up doing most of a fresh start apart from a few choice apps and SMS backup but liking it a lot.

Battery life also seems to be faring quite well for overclocking from 800 to 1200...

  • Kirth, for productivity or entertainment?

  • Playing GTA III is pretty cool.

  • GA2G, anything really ? I've never had this amount of storage so probably missed tons of fun things!

Gotta say the audio on this phone is pretty impressive (with decent headphones). Far better than the Nexus 1

  • Rather than make personal suggestions to you, just look up the genres that you're interested in, and select the ones that are highest rated. Do check each app before downloading, as some malware does get through onto the Android Play Store.

  • Ordered a blue S3 from Expansys. "Stock expected 1 day".
    I'm not a patient person.
5% (£13) quidco, 1.5% cashback from Amex. = £500 pretty much on the nose.

  • I forgot about quidco, oh well. I've spent the day playing with it. Awesome fun

  • Not sure if anyone was aware of this app but just found it on the hot uk deals site.

    Basically it means you can make free calls to 0800 numbers from android;

  • I just use Skype for that

  • my phone is weird.
    here it's battery history.

  • could well be. just downloaded Carat to see whagwarn

  • GTAIII now 69p. At this price you should buy it if you think you'll ever have a phone that will run it.

There's other stuff for cheaps, but this is probably the best deal I've seen

  • 69p brought.

Now I own that game on pc, ps2 and android.

I know what I'll be playing every night on the way home on the bus now!!

  • ahhh i haven't got my wallet with me but i'll buy it as soon as i get home

  • boughted!

  • refunded - disnae work on Galaxy Nexus :(

  • Expansys's delivery estimates are... erratic at best.

First they said my order would be shipped in 3 days, even though the main website said they wouldn't have stock by then, then the ship date dropped by a day, then it went up by 6 days and now it says it's shipped! I don't think my estimated shipping date ever really matched their ETA for stock.

  • I just bought myself Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition for just under £200. Can't wait for delivery.
