Disagree in this case. If you can't get a connection you've lost access to your documents, the ability to create new ones, or worse, perhaps the ability to save one that you've been working on. Something offline and that syncs is a good idea.

Are you sure there isn't an offline sync to it? Google Docs are already available offline, I know because I worked on a flight to Seattle and it all magically worked offline and sync'd when back online.

A phone being more likely to get back online faster than my laptop is.

Google Docs used to use Gears to work offline. They canned it for some reason.
I've not actually tried it though, since I'm never editing anything on the move (that isn't just some notepad thing). Gmail will save drafts offline so I don't really see why it's a big issue. Feel free to google it and let us know :)

Only because HTML5 provides storage and Gears was no longer needed. It must be coming back soon.

Its therefore quite easy to see how much a jump from Eclair to Froyo affects a phone's performance, and also how good the latest cpu's are. The Snapdragon 7230 800Mhz nearly matches the TI OMAP 3620, 1.20 GHz. The Samsung Galaxys S doesn't do too well, due to a 'lag' issue. XDA devs modded a fix for this, but that sacrifices 1GB of user memory space. It makes it much faster, but there have been a few reported problems. But it shows how far things have come, and how much a new cpu, and/or gpu, can affect performance.

For me its the Curling game. The realistic physics and the always changing challenge is what's hooked me.
I always start first, so as to decrease my chances of winning.

cheers downloading now. I have been playing this pool break demo that has snooker and other games as well, really playable. you get a 15 day demo for free then it goes to lite. Pretty good. can play other players online too.

i've just been going on the tfl cycle route planner, exporting to gps device. Then opening the .gpx file with Rmaps, works a treat.

OK maybe I'm just being dumb but how do you do this.

I want to search for a business address in Google maps on my pc and add it to my contacts so I can see it on my phone.

How do I do it?
