Includes Hotpot which is similar to Rummble.. reviews of places by a list of your friends kind of thing. That's very nice. Reviewed a load of stuff this morning and they've appeared on my Android as little gold stars.
Maybe if you accept the invite I sent over and you reviewed the pizza place I'd see that on my Android too.

Does anyone know when they are going to be accepting orders for the Advent Vega?
I am tempted by it.

Have you guys used Compass Mode in Street View?
It blew my fucking mind!
Okay I was hungover and probably easily impressed but still.. on the DHD (and Desire) it's fucking awesome. I could almost walk around my front yard in Australia by moving the phone about. Wickedness.
To do it.. google maps, press and hold somewhere and it will pop up a location box, press this box and it will load an info screen, click the little guy to the right for Street View, press your menu key and choose Compass Mode, explore! :)

Some kind of virtual reality. I need to get Layar back on my phone along with Maze..

just tried it, it's far from accurate.
I was looking the direction of my street and it was pointing facing 90 degrees to the left and kept spazzing about. -

I was looking the direction of my street and it was pointing facing 90 degrees to the left and kept spazzing about. It's because the compass needs to callibrate and isn't given the chance. When Android phones have gyroscopes this will be less of a problem as it can use both to cancel out the noise.

google maps manages to point me in the right direction when in normal mode though.

The problem is more that to use Compass Mode in a decent way (as an Augmented Reality app) you have to hold the phone up in the air... imagine a compass held vertically and you'll know it won't still hold the needle the right way, it will have a little difficulty.
A gyroscope in addition to a compass solves this, as the compass is used to set direction, and then the gyroscope is used to monitor movement. Occasionally the compass is asked whether the gyroscope math remains correct, but largely the gyroscope is in charge of working out which direction we're pointing after the compass is initially queried. The gyroscope overcomes the limitations of a miniature compass sensor which generally is implemented as a flat sensor and only gets a pretty good reading when used on a flat, non-metallic, surface ( example of that kind of sensor is here: http://www.convict.lu/Jeunes/CompassSensor.htm ).
Compass sensors are basically crap unless used on a flat surface and callibrated regularly. When in compass mode in Maps you're basically doing neither, so a gyroscope would make an enormous difference in stability of the rendering.

recently got my first "smart phone", now all it needs is a smart user.
got a neat little gear inch calc. ap though.
Ha, my friend got a Desire and I met him in the pub a few days after..
"I thought you said this phone was smart? It went flat after a day. ONE DAY!!"
He loves it now though.
I like FixedGears on Android a lot. No more 'what's that in inches' conversations.

Xperia 10 may get the multitouch overall
Bleh.
The good thing about that, is that it would be hard to then not update at least to Froyo 2.2 also.
I remember when I said that I thought certain phone makers were being lazy by not enabling multi-touch
(sic) if it could have done so in the first place, I was put down by non-other than Velocio.http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/2010/11/17/work-ongoing-on-pinch-zoom-for-xperia-x10/
