When did you buy the phone? When did HTC say it would have 2.2?
I do find it a bit funny that that people buy phones and expect it to run future iterations of the chosen OS. No one buys a computer expecting it to run Windows 8..You did buy the BUDGET HTC option.
Anyway, the Samsung with GAOSP 2.2 didn't find Angry Birds in the Market.
This says it's out:
http://www.itproportal.com/portal/news/article/2010/8/3/htc-wildfire-android-22-update-released/End of August, when it was being reported that 2.2 was coming for the Wildfire in Sept on numerous tech sites.
I know =(
Don't trust anything you read on tech sites is my lesson. But it's not really about the absence of 2.2 to be honest, I've just realised I want something more powerful and with a bigger screen that will run all the apps.

I have a house brick that never crashes. Not so useful though.

Heh, right on cue- my N1 just crashed and I had to pull the battery to reboot it.

Nexus 2 looks interesting, but after the Nexus 1 performance
debacle, I wouldn't touch it.Carphonewarehouse have a very Android heavy Xmas line up. One of the phones is the 100GBP Alcatel OT-980.
I like it. Nice form factor, though a total ripoff the Blackberry Torch.

So hippy, do you still recommend I get a desire? Or is spending the extra and getting a HD now the recommended plan of action?
My mouse pointer is hanging over the order button.

If the latest rumours of it being a Samsung are true.. you know where google can stick it.
if this is true that thenexus 2 is indeed a galaxy s that is great news for us galaxy s owners as the hardware will be almost identical which means that soon as new nexus2 updates come out it will be easy to rip and post tghem to other galaxy s handsets!!
so fk samsung and their lame update policy if they are forced to release updates as they are announced by google then it means we can all have them!!
