been looking for a radio alarm clock app for my droid
@tommy
I'm pretty sure this was discussed one or two pages back....though at the speed this thread grows, it could be further back still.Yep.
As it goes, the alarm function works once in a blue moon on my Hero, so i'd be pleased to hear how it goes for you, if its an app thing, or just due to my hero being odd.

Sure you haven't got SIM-stored contacts mixed in, that perhaps haven't been synced?
pretty sure. my phone says:
sim (0)
google (207)
phone (109)
facebook (191)yet gmail contacts list is only 67...

You've checked the different contact labels in gmail? There is a list on the right
[sorry if this is obv.] -

[sorry if this is obv.]yeah, theres only a few with phone numbers. it seems that only email address sync back and forth.

Ok. Have you got it turned on in settings on your phone?
Home > Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync > Your account > Sync Contacts

yep. its all setup and has been syncing stuff for nearly a year now. i assumed it was syncing ALL contacts. but it seems it only syncs contacts that are either a facebook or google profile or an email. if that email is on the phone with mobile and address etc in the contact's info it has it in the gmail contacts list too. but that's not many. gmail's contact list is simply emails.
is this the case for anyone else? -

When you go to gmail, and click on the Contacts link on the left hand nav bar, you get the contacts manager up.
In that manager, have you selected "All Contacts" from the inner left hand nav bar?
-
• #3135
yeah. like i say, its weird. it only has those people with a web/email address associated.
-
• #3136
my gmail seemed only to have synced a handful....most annoying
try looking at the very bottom of the screen on your pc, you can choose what display type you want gmail to have
"older contact manager" is the one. The new contacts tab doesn't genuinely have "all contacts" but the older style one does
dunno why.

still doesn't have all my phone contacts. well weird. glad i used the orange backup app.
-
• #3138
Were the numbers ever saved to Contacts or are they numbers from received calls?
-
• #3139
saved to phone, with names, some with emails, some with all the info. shrugs
-
• #3141
Which phone are you using? Perhaps they are being saved under Phone-only?
I had a look at mine trying to find a non-synched contact and found a phone number I'd used that was only on the phone. I think you must add it to saved Contacts and specify Google account. If you specify Phone or SIM then I guess it doesn't push them to Gmail. -

There's chat of Motorola releasing the Droid Terminator in early 2011.
Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core
Android 3.0 GingerbreadI am sceptical that it will be out early in 2011. I'd fancy mid-2011.
Until then, the Droid X will compete ably with the rest of the current superphones. -

I've changed my mind regarding tablets. I still think they're fucking pointless but I'm going to buy one just to help bump Android usage figures. ;)

Good man. Without you, the whole Android movement would come to a complete halt. :D
I'll get one also, but because its useful, and especially for the games, and the ebooks.

• #3149
i would defo try one of those.
