The Motorola Droid 2 is the Motorola Milestone 2 in Europe. Its due in a week or so, and although previously sported a 1Ghz cpu,
its found that it will instead be a 1.2Ghz cpu. -

make sure you back up data, apps, reminders etc, as the phone is effectively wiped back to a factory state

Not sure. Not had an official HTC rom for 10 months. Check the documentation

yeah will do, think its good to do a fresh run anyway with out restoring apps etc, think i will literally back up her contacts, and photos etc then wipe the lot, geta clean run at it... she has mentioned that her phone intermitantly switches off etc which is normally caused by a bad install somewhere...

OTA update on my Desire installed 2.2 without me needing to do anything. Of course, if you're on a network then they will no doubt fuck the process up, delete all your data and install a bunch of useless shit at the same time. Kill phone network interference.

I like netbooks. Of course you can't do much on them except for very basic stuff, but I find the concept very workable.
Acer Aspire One 260 now combines Windows 7 with a dual-boot Android OS.
For me, writing will always be better with a physical keyboard, than a virtual one on a tablet. -

Until we have sub-vocal, five nines precision, voice recognition, anyway.

I have a specific project that would be easier to accomplish with a netbook, due to its physical keyboard.
I've not had a home-phone line, nor external internet connection for at least 4 years; I've always used my laptop tethered through my mobile. But now that I can create a Wi-Fi hotspot from my Desire, its fast, and easier for myself and the lady.
I use my laptop when I'm at home. It feels too cumbersome to carry around. I wouldn't actually need a netbook, as my laptop would take care of any such requirements. But the extra portability may be worth a reassessment.

Netbooks, imo, are useless. The keyboard is barely worth being called a keyboard, and the frustration caused by trying to type on one quickly destroys the benefit of weight savings. Ultra-pportable, ftw, if you need to type a lot. Tablet/ereader if you just need to read and take a few notes. Mobile if you're not planning to do either.

If you are android, then all of your contacts are synced to the cloud, under contacts in gmail.
Why you need backup?
This is actually a feature I love. I can enter / edit / merge contacts in my web browser and the results are instantly available on my phone. Been waiting years for that to work so smoothly.

-
• #3119
Yes. They should be linked. One and the same.

May need to turn contact syncing on, in the sync manager part of settings. (can't remember the exact wording, you should find it.)

I think the technical term is "soon". ;)

PCWorld,
Expansys,

been looking for a radio alarm clock app for my droid
Found one called tunein Radio that is really good.
its got little adverts but no other charge. The only negative is its only internet radio stations.. no FM option is it drains your bandwidth.
Anyone got any other suggestions for a radio alarm clock app?
^ That is so retarded it's absolutely brilliant... Want...
