Glad you got them to finally give you a new phone though - laws FTW.

Vodafone gave me a new phone, no down-time involved.

So- quote the sale of goods act to them if you have a problem.

ANYWAY- I backed up my phone using MyBackup Pro, to their online storage.

Swapped handset, re-downloaded the app and hit "restore data".

It then restored my data perfectly- if your definition of perfectly is significantly different to mine.

It re-loaded all the appointments in my calendar, going back to June/July, and emailed invites to every person involved in those meetings. Literally hundreds, conceivably thousands of meeting requests going to colleagues, customers, suppliers and so forth- all for meetings in the past.

I received some very dry responses...

To be fair, the guy bashing his bear paws into the Next tablet seems to be retarded. I have no doubt it's a cheap tablet that's not perfect, but couldn't be bothered to test internet and media? Fuck off.

the way the screen went weird. My phone does that sometimes. It doesn't seem to like being in my pocket.

My Nexus one does it when in car mode- you press an on screen button and the screen slides sideways. Incredible frustrating, cause of me shouting at it a lot.

+1 I hate it when some apps run in the background even when I've closed them, skype and dropbox both do this - as does facebook I think? It would be nice to minimise them or close them completely (stop them running in background)

I think his point was he couldn't access it as the screen wasn't stable... what's more bonkers is that they (NEXT) would risk giving one to a BBC journalist without making sure it worked properly.... the power of t'interweb means regardless of what people think of his review... it's going to be found when buyers wanna review pre-buy.

p.s. Love the phrase 'bear paws'.... am looking for an opportunity to use it in the next hour... will assign full credit Horatio!
