  • yeah.

  • Had a look at the San Francisco in store today, it looks tidy for the money.
Repeat the "where is it for £79??" demand

There are usually a few sellers of OEM tech cheap at the UCL computer fairs, I might have a look for those Epads next week.

  • I think it £79 if you have an orange payg sim from more than six months ago?

  • Reppoed for excellent news find.

  • A couple more, for you hungry masses.

    Local file management,
    On demand synchronization,
    Shared folders, Photo features

  • I got mine for £78 by ringing up orange direct.

I'm a long term orange customer but I doubt that much to do with their 'generosity'
Just ring up the sales team and show some interest -they have the power to give out discretionary discounts.

  • Might have been me?

Newbies Guide to Rooting X10 and giving you the newest firmware!

    :)

    Also:

Rooted following this. The home screen definitely looks different! Like - dare I say it? Ipod style. But uhhhh, Im confused, it says firmware 1.6 STILL, but everything else has changed. So it just looks like I'm running Almost Nexus on 1.6?

  • Or do I root then flash?!

  • you root so you can flash

  • ^^ Yep.
Root just gives the ability to do "anything" you still have to do something :)

[oh, just had a look on XDA, they still haven't actually managed to build any custom ROM's, as they haven't got access to the bootloader]

  • Anyone got any info on Gingerbread, as in release dates, manufacturers of phones and features?

I am tempted by the HD Desire, but think I'd be better sticking for now and waiting for the next major point upgrade.

It's odd how tight lipped the big G seem to be on the roadmap for it...

    Oct with phones Nov/Dec

    • Android 3.0 Gingerbread will be released in mid- October (around 15 -16th), 2010. First handsets shipping in November/December – for the Holiday Season.
    • Minimum hardware requirements for Android 3.0 devices are: 1GHZ CPU, 512MB or RAM, displays from 3.5" and higher. We all of course heard that Android handsets with 2GHz CPU's are coming.
    • New 1280×760 resolution available for the devices with displays of 4" and higher
    • Completely revamped user interface. If you want to get a feeling of what Android 3.0 Gingerbread UX is like, check out the Gallery App on Nexus One. The same overall feel, light animated transitions, etc. Natively, through all the UI.
    • Android's split into 2 branches becomes official. 3.0 for top of the line/high end devices. Cheap, low-end mass market handsets will keep Android 2.1/2.2

Also, Gingerbread might not be Android 3.0

  • Hmm I've been using that radio app for the last couple of days, really good although when you close the app it still runs in the background - cue fuck all battery at half 3 on a monday. I guess I'll just have to remember to close the app down in future.

  • ^^ Yep.
