  • I'm basically like everyone else, torn between a few £3-400 models.

    Yep, me too.

Decent camera is a priority, waterproof definitely a bonus.

Right now, HTC U11 £370 from eGlobal is top of the list. One of the Sonys probably 2nd.

  • That's a great price, not really seen much about the A2, rumored to be bigger, slight better stock camera but a smaller battery.

I personally can't see me changing phone until they stop updating it, does everything I need and for fraction of a high end phone.

Just seen that Xiaomi have an event on the 25th so maybe see what that brings.

  • Just got the Google Pixel 2 for £30 a month and £15 up front, which seemed excessive in some ways, but I was paying £10 a month sim only already (bought a Moto G4+ outright about 18 months ago, ok phone but wanted a better camera) so figured this wasn't a bad way to go about it. Plus I got a £40 Amazon voucher, c.£35 cashback, so not bad. Thought I buy f-all on amazon so...

  • anyone swapped iphone 6s plus to Samsung S9+ ?

    interested to hear experiences

extent of my research so far:

  • I'll buy the amazon voucher off you for £30?

  • Shit just got real. My nexus 5x was working fine yesterday, forgot to plug the charger in when I went to bed so it died in the night (buzzed and woke me). Now it's f**king bricked, can't get it powered up no matter what. Best response so far has been a weak orange flashing light from the mic area...

  • Try another charger, I've had intermittent charging before and it's been a dodgy cable... Picked one up at Heathrow last week and all is good now...

  • Think I might go for the full fat Sony. Silver one is £10 less.

Alternatively, the 64Gb xz compact is £330 from GiffGaff, who will deliver quicker than eGlobal.

  • I quite fancy getting a tablet for drawing sketching and basic design work but I'm on a quite a low budget. iPad wayout of my range but is there a cheaper option ?

  • Thanks, that did the trick. Phew!

  • Did you mean something like a Wacom tablet?

  • After somewhere over 6 months of procrastination, I've ordered the OnePlus 5T as above.

Moto G (3) has done well for the last three years or so. Before that, I had a BlackBerry...

  • Let us know how you get on with it!

  • Talk to me about dual Sims... my company is getting me a phone, I was looking for a new phone, if both phones can be one phone it'd probably mean a better phone and less phones to carry sometimes.

As I understand it, in order to have both sims active I need dual sim 'active' not dual sim standby. Is it ever possible to turn the second sim on and off then, or would I be doomed to having an active work phone on me all the time?

  • OnePlus 3T allows both sims to be active at once and you can turn sims on and off individually. I assume other models are similar.

  • Unfortunately that's not available from what I have to choose from (under £30 a month) Semms like dual active is something of a rarity.

Maybe it's a bit of a silly idea and I should stop trying to mix business and leisure, as it were.

  • What apps have good widgets? I've finally got around to organising my pixel and am pleased with the calender, keep and tell widgets, then colour coordinated app icons for the rest but wonder if I'm missing something obvious. Is there anything that will allow me to write notes WITHIN the home screen? Keep for example opens up the app when I wish to type, though I can scroll through my last 30 or so notes which is nice. Would be great to have note taking without second or two of loading an app.

  • colour coordinated app icons

< More fun at parties than you could possibly imagine.

  • It's been a week since I ordered new phone from eGlobal.

So far, I've had a couple of emails telling me how things are progressing, but no parcel tracking number as yet.

Possibly slightly regretting not shelling out £12 for the expedited delivery option.

  • Long press on Keep. Action shortcut menu appears. You can drag these actions onto the homescreen. Nice, quick note taking.

  • Long press

    Great tip for many apps.
To save the function to the home screen. Thanks !

  • De nada

  • Has anyone rooted their Pixel yet? I miss real adaway
