That's exactly what I wanted to hear!

What colours did you guys go for? I don't want 'ice' which seems to be a kind of tepid green. I quite like the idea of white but have read that it marks easily. Black seems most sensible but possibly a bit dull.

It's awesome. The screen/battery life/speed/keyboard/charging speed are all great. It's beautifully made, like Google took a big lump of aluminium and machined it from it.
It just works ;)

I have what is effectively the (very much more) cheapo version, one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/10-1-Inch-Chromebook-Rockchip-Integrated-Graphics/dp/B0107N7WT6/
Gets a lot of use. Battery lasts for ages, it's almost as light to stick in a bag as a tablet (given it doesn't need a protective cover, can do light photo editing (can even handle 24MP RAWs if you have patience) and also runs Linux for when you want something a bit more than Chrome OS.

It's a phone not a tamagotchi..

I always end up going for black though. I'd like white if I thought it would stay white.
I thought it was a marshmallow?
(That second line makes no sense now since your ninja edit).

Only slight negative is the usb3 cable. Came as a bit of a surprise. They are loads better than the old usb micro cables though, and there is no 'wrong way up'

Brilliant, getting rid of the old MacBook as I realised the only thing I need is the space for photography, nothing cloud can't sort out.
Like the fact you can power it either side of the USB-C
Even moreso with the Nexus 5X mean you only need one cable to take with you.

Yep, both of those things are useful but I already know from experience with the Pixel 2 that being able to charge it from either side is way more useful than you might originally think.

Anybody know why I can't use signal secure calling while on wifi? It works fine on 4g.

Get into the walking dead game and buy one of the medium coin packages.

Ive found out a way to move my iTunes library to Google Plays with ease.
Next thing to look for is simply an mp3 player to replace the old iPod, is there's a good suggestion that'll work with Google Play or do I need to manually add/removed songs from it?
Big capacity, huge battery life (and android if necessary to run Google Play).

Get a cheap android phone. Any old pos that takes a micro SD card.
-
• #17169
Would that actually last as long as says, the Walkman's 70+ hours battery claim?
-

With aeroplane mode on and no screen, you could get poetry good battery life.
Find one with replaceable battery.
Galaxy Nexus? Edit: No SD. Research needed.

That's a fair point, the Moto G would be idea since it's water resistant, idea for leaving in the back of a jersey, and airplane mode mean no 3G or GPS hunting around for signal.
No SD card tho.
Found another PMP (the new name for mp3 player as I discovered), the Cowon X9, a claimed 110 hours worth of battery.

@edscoble order one of these and just use your existing phone then charge it when you need too. I ride sometimes with that in one side jersey pocket and phone in the other with short usb cable between them if phone is dying.

I might be missing the advantage of a dedicated music device but I think that's vanished in recent years.

Massive battery life for one.
This mean with the Sony's 77 hours claim, I can comfortably use just the mp3 player for several days without charges*, and not need to use the phone (which then can be either turned off or left on airplane mode).
(we're talking mainly for touring).
*even more with Cowon 110 hours claim.

No SD card tho.
It does! I'm about to sell my 8Gb 2014 Moto G (not water resistant, but...) as I've happily moved over to my lovely new Nexus 5X. I can chuck in a 32Gb micro SD card if you like.
For it's failings as a phone (8Gb of built in storage, crap camera, bit slow) it would make a great mp3 player. It's always had very good battery life.

Actually you're right, must've read the wrong thing, make it slightly more appealing (esp. water resistant).
My only nag about using an android phone is merely the fact I'm just using it for music, making a lots of feature redundant.
https://nextbit.com/ any opinions?
