Two parts of fuck all probably.

Better off ordering a screen, replacing it, and then selling the s4. No one wants broken shit.
I just read that the samsung alpha might be stopping production because of some weird korean laws. Do yourselves a favour and get one while they last. I've been in love with mine for 2 months now. Thats about 7 weeks longer than usual. This is the phone that apple would have made if steve jobs ate more bimbap and kimchee.

Looking fto upgrade my Sony Xperia sp. Prefer a compact handset and quite liked the nexus 5 but they no longer do them. Apparently the best compact handset atm is Sony z3 compact. Should I go for another Sony or is there something more. interesting round the corner. Looking for nice minimal type phone but ideally still be quite powerful.

I know this has been covered in this thread, and I'm fairly sure it was @Velocio who had some suggestions, but I can't find it in search.
I'm upgrading from Cyanogenmod to Lollipop on Nexus 5 so I'm looking for an app to limit permissions like Privacy Guard does on cyanogenmod. Any suggestions, thanks.

Wait for Cyanogenmod 12?
-
• #15557
Too late (and I'm not a great fan of Cyanogenmod).
Further research makes me think it was xprivacy that was mentioned on here. Further, further research suggests it relies on the xposed installer which doesn't work on lollipop due to the different runtime.
This has all reminded me of the joy of android phone stuff where you appear to be working from a position of all the beginner's guides being written for someone who is already familiar with all of the terminology and the current state of play of everything.

anyone got a N5 or something similar they are not using/upgraded from etc...

Got Lollipop on my Moto X 2014.
Turning off the Chrome setting which merges the tab list with the app switcher also disables the replacement of the full URL with "everything up to the /".
Shame. The former is nice, the latter is evil.

What are the best free and paid podcast players for android? Thanks
-
• #15561
Beyondpod is pretty good. There is free and paid, the paid version is what I use but I can't remember what features it added that made me buy it.
-

+1 for beyondpod. I have the cheapskates free version and it's fine. The latest free version is (I'm sure deliberately) less intuitive to use to make you want to upgrade. You can only update one podcast at a time on the free version, but that's no biggy.

I use Podcast Addict (free). Does the job, but nothing to write home about. Doesn't seem to be limited vs the paid version. Just has an ad at the bottom of the app which I don't look at because why would I stare at my phone while listening to podcasts?

I'll give a shout to Pocket Casts which I think is a couple of quid. It's possible the free options have got better, but I went through a bunch of them and found them all annoying for one reason or another before giving Pocket Casts a go and it does everything really well: syncs across different devices, nice UI, podcast search works really well, discover page is useful for when I want something new - I've just found it pretty much niggle free and given the amount of use I've got out of it I don't regret (or think about) having paid for it at all.

I quite like podkicker, but I am not very picky

I'm at the end of my tether. Please help.
I got an alert from Google today saying someone tried to access my account and that I should change my password. I did. Then forgot it. Spent ages recovering the account. Got it back, changed the password again. Now Gmail etc is working fine on my Mac, but I cannot sign in to Play Store or Gmail on my Android device. I have tried deleting the account on the device and starting over, I have turned the phone off and on it just keeps saying password and username don't match. I can't find any solutions online.
Any ideas?

Found the answer, finally.

So the Lollipop battery stats are a bit shit (they seem to be absolute battery usage but there often seems to be a difference between the battery used and what the stats show, up to 30% or so). Any suggestions for a battery drain monitoring app?

Lollipop 5.0.2 update downloaded for my 2012 Nexus 7 wifi tablet.
I'm being cautiously optimistic but it seems to of solved the problems that 5.0 created.
-
• #15572
I'd suggest you use two-step verification as well if someone's already attempted to access your account.

My N5 totally calmed down after the first Lollipop update, had no idea another was already up...

Am using PocketCasts, like although def room for improvement - would like to pull together playlist or something or the sort with selections of content

Thanks! That was actually the answer. Turned on 2 step, then it gave me the option to generate a random code to access apps. This by passing the password issue.
what's the going rate for a SGS4 that needs a new screen ? other than that, excellent condition
