Is it really that much better though or is 3G just shit now 4G is there?

Depends which operator you're with, but the easiest way is to pop into one of their shops and they'll give you a new micro-sim for your existing number.
This or try various carphone warehouses, most will chop it down for free

Finally got around to updating to android 4.4.3 only to discover that 4.4.4 was already out.
Neat, got to skip a version.
Also discovered that even with a rooted xprivacy setup I could upgrade without losing anything. Double neat. Means I have a Sunday to go outside and enjoy instead

Right... I'd like to have my Android Chrome launch in incognito mode by default.
Anyone know how to achieve this?
I have root, can change anything.
I've tried setting the Preferences file incognito mode, and it works on Win, Mac and Linux... just not Android.
"incognito":{
"mode_availability":2
}
Which according to: http://src.chromium.org/viewvc/chrome/trunk/src/chrome/common/pref_names.cc?view=markup#l318 will force incognito. It does... everywhere but Android.
I've also had a look at chrome://version/ which shows the command line with which Chrome is launched. In theory I could add --incognito to that command line and it would be applied... but... where is that command line defined? Anyone know whether there is the equivalent of a launch file that contains this command line?

A long way round but you could write your own app that launches chrome with the switch. Probably.
Or is there an app that will let you just run a command line script when you click a widget perhaps?
Sure you've thought of these...

Upgraded from my old san fran to galaxy S4 mini - whooo whoo
Any recommendations on how to root it and what ROM to install?
Tried using the standard installer from http://www.cyanogenmod.org/
but says the phone isn't compatible. -

Upgraded my S3 from CM10.2 to CM11 and having some issues with getting MX player to be default video player in browser. It doesn't give me the option of choosing a default even once I've cleared defaults for MX player and Browser in the apps menu, and there's no other video player in the app list to clear its default. Same thing happens with Chrome.

I don't think I would/will speak with/to people wearing google glasses. I'm dreading the day students start wearing them to lectures.
Resistance if futile, etc..

Do they record what you are looking at?
I would think that amongst cyclists this would make them very popular, especially if there was an automatic "upload to Met Police" function.
-
• #14918
Think the Met would rather that function was disabled - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-27949674

Anyway, I don't think Google Glasses have a permanently on recording function.

Have we done this yet?

I don't think so either (although there's not reason why there won't be one in the future). Nonetheless, the potential of being recorded by anyone at any point for any reason feels a bit dystopic (even if it is a reality we are already live to an extent).

Anyone tried any of these chinese smartphones you get for peanuts?
Like something from here: http://www.tmart.com/ -
• #14924
There was a story recently that some of those chinese phones were coming pre-loaded with malware so if you did get one I'd suggest the first thing would be a wipe and install cyanogenmod or similar (in fact before I got any of those phones I'd check if they could be flashed as updates will be non-existent).
