In which case, it might appear using normal MTP/without debug, if you install the driver.

There isn't a driver for N5. I've tried the current SDK and some other options (LGs G2, Nexus S, Universal drivers, etc)

Disable USB Debugging the the device goes from "the drivers for this device are not installed" to "currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer".

try reinstalling itunes.

Ha.
If this isn't resolved within the 15 days, it's going back as not fit for purpose.

Switch it off and on again.

I like the origami stand (but not the music):

I don't like the little raised edge around the screen - the N4 was smooth all over......

I have no complaints... Nice phone, not too different from the N4 really...
Could've easily lived with the N4 for another six months, maybe longer...

Nexus 5 no longer talking to PC. It switches to charging but the MTP/PTP dropdown doesn't appear.
Old Nexus works fine.
This is getting tiring.
I assume you've tried different cables, the one that came with my Nexus 5 was a bit shit at making a consistent connection.

Interesting, I was using my N7 cable when I connected my N5 the other day, with no issues... Haven't tried the N5 cable yet.
Edit: Actually, it may have been the N4 cable. I forget.

Custom Kitkat roms for N4 and N7 already popping up. Tempted to try one today.

Yeah, three different cables. The cable I'm using in the office works with my other phone and the N5 is definitely talking to the computer as it responds to enabling/disabling USB Debugging. It's just that there's no driver for it so I can't do anything. The MTP/PTP option never appears.

• #13244
Have you tried a different USB port? Should be recognised as a new device and sort of start from scratch where drivers are concerned.
-
• #13245
Can someone not copy the driver they're using and send it to you?
-
• #13246
Should've got a Mac...

Should've got a Mac...
OSX doesn't support MTP.
Should be using linux.

My N5 showed up on my OSX desktop first time...

Shenanigans.

Do u even?
It can do some amount of communicating as it just fired into life with USB debugging enabled. No driver found message. But Nexus 5 device now appears under Other devices.
