my nexus 4 arrived this morning.

was due in a few days back but was being sent to me work address.

it was ordered back in early november.

this thing is superb.

My contract is up this month, and I need to go with three on the one plan this time round annoyingly (need the tethering). Can't find a phone I like on it at the moment; is this likely to change post CES show? worth waiting another month?

At least it was only a quick wash. Disassembled it all and dried it out and it appears as though the screen didn't get any moisture in it, which may or may not be a good thing. It isn't happy though, so I'm pretty close to considering it a writeoff.
Now, I'm off to HK on the 31st for a few days.. maybe I can post it to a friend out there to see if it's repairable...

I have smashed the screen of my htc flyer and need to get some important files off it.

If I swap the motherboard of an android tablet to new another one, will the internal memory and apps also be transferred? This approach is much much easier (and cheaper) than installing a new digitizer glass & lcd.

It's been in rice overnight on top of the servers. I think all the moisture's out, but it's still not happy.

Put it in a bag rice for few days.

The storage tends to be stuck to the main board.

Not sure about the HTC Flyer, and it's not on ifixit.com but the S3 has its logic & storage on a separate board to the screen/digitiser.
