  • I have it on good authority that the chimes mean that they've run out of ice cream.

  • If I hit an unarmed man with a baton and he dies, will I get away with it?

Depends if you work for Metropolitan or not.

  • Some friends of mine have told their children that the Ice Cream Van is the Music Van driven by kindly old women who want to share music with all the children and they have to get up and dance everytime they hear it.

I think they may have overdone this a bit and are going end up paying heavily in a couple of years.

Go out and get one, you'll enjoy it.

  • @smithchild normally I'd say go with the AF lens for sports shots of any kind, even if I'd never used it. But if the light is failing you might need the primes.

The problem with this is to let in as much of the failing light as possible you will need to use them as far open as possible, which means narrow depth of field. You could stick them on a tripod, but that won't really help, as the point of a tripod is longer exposure time, which means the riders will blur. Personally I'd go for prime on tripod, compose frame, get the focus dialled in to a particular point, set the drive mode to burst (3 or whatever pics in a row), press it just before they are in focus, et voila.

Forget the built in flash, they're crap.

  • I have the following equipment but very limited experience etc.

You will need some experience then.

  • @hatbeard - thanks but that might not help my weight loss (although I could always put in the extra miles on the bike to make up)

@Zoidberg - you've obviously got kids or had parents who hated ice cream

@The Seldom Killer - that sounds great, the get up and dancing thing but more importantly I love the way you encourage me to go and have an ice cream. I need more people like you in my life.

sign addendum: (feel free to speed along though if you wan't I'll catch up to you on my bike if I do actually want one).

two birds, one ice cream cone

TBF I reckon unless some shady men with a briefcase full of unmarked bills gets to the jury any time soon, he's royally fucked.

  • He's only about a metre tall at the mo, that sounds too small doesn't it.

  • Is there a teachers' training day in your school today?

No, why? Do you need a job?

Ace cheers, I'll keep my eyes open for a mini burner....

Ladypool cycles might be a good place to go. They have re-issues of all the burners and are generally quite good with kids bikes.

  • The cleaner just found a little baggie with the remains of some white power in it in the toilets of my work. We have some dodgy clients so no doubt it was one of them.
The bag has little pound symbol on it, anyone know what its likely to be?

    Racism?

  • Speaking of bags...
Who sells these? In a shop? That I can collect from BEFORE saturday? London. Central. etc.
    Post office?

  • Post office maybe.

  • failing that staples do them... there's one on OKR

  • I'm already starting to get a tan line from my helmet. Apart from suggesting not wearing one...

...can anybody tell me which sunblock they find is good for 8 hour rides in the sun?

Ideally should be non sticky and handle a bit of sweating. its just that I don't want anything over greasy/sticky on my face during longer rides. I have darker skin so don't burn easily. Is that P20 stuff good for cycling?

  • How long will UK customs hold onto my parcel for? (It's cycling shoes from the USA)

  • Until you pay them?

  • But they haven't asked for any money yet.
