This might be controversial, but how about spending money on coaching rather than spending money on wheels. The former is cheaper and gives substantially more in the way of benefits.
Agree 100%

You seem to be making an assumption here that I am not training? Is this based on anything in particular?
-
• #6805
It's based purely on the amount of time you are on here asking questions as to how you can get a lighter bike. Nothing more.

So not posting=training like a fiend?

I have a grey bob jackson with tasteful pink accessories.
Will I look like a complete goon if I get this:?

But, if you were asking questions about what kind of training you needed to do to ensure that all Em sees is you disappearing into the distance I'd have more confidence.

More seriously, I'm not a coach so take any advice I offer with a pinch of salt, but you should be seeking to increase your sustainable power for 45-60 mins. To do this you need to have a decent aerobic base so at this time of year you should be doing long, steady rides.

at work 3 of us use entourage, with the same email address on different computers. is there any way to indicate that you have replied to an email that will then immediately show up on their entourage? for example if an email with a question comes in and I reply at home, but dont tell my colleagues, is there a way I can mark the email as replied to so it shows up in their inbox as replied?

bcc the reply to your shared email?

Serious question.
I've currently got a rideback century, which I bought on last years cycle to work scheme. I've thought of a plan for this years cycle to work scheme of buying a new group set for it, 105 or Ultegra and some new wheels.
Does this sound like a good idea? The bike is great for what I want it for audax and light touring.Current bike;

i believe you can only get complete bikes on cycle to work*
*this could be wrong. it's certainly the case here though.

Pretty sure I could speak to the LBS though and sort something out, they are getting my money at the end of the day.

Buy a bike with the groupset you want. Sell frame.
