I need some advice:
I have a merckx alu track 20th anniversary frame I abused in winter. I could do with space and money.
With some love and a respray it could end up pretty nice, but I am unsure about the corroded parts.Whats a fair price? Or do I just sell the forks because the corrosion is to bad?

25.4mm bars in 26mm stem, likely to end in immediate certain death or fine?
-
• #63881
Depends on the stem. I've been using 25.4mm bars in a 26mm Deda CrMo closed clamp stem ever since I built up my Pompetamine, but I wouldn't go near an aluminium stem of any design which has been thus abused, the material can't tolerate the strain and the thickness of the bit which gets bent means it actually has more strain for the same change of radius, compared with a thin walled CrMo or Ti clamp.

I'm after some over trousers for my girlfriend for trekking. She usually wears leggings, but wants something a bit warmer and wind resistant.
I thought waterproof over trousers would be a sensible option; 1) if it rains, and 2) as they'll be warm with something under, and 3) they seem to be small and packable so she can take them off. She runs cold and a lot of them seem to have zips so I'm not too worried about boil in the bag, although something a bit breathable would be good.
Does anyone know of any cheap and cheerful ones? (must be online)
I found so Berhuase paclite and Marmot Precip for around £60 on sale but I'm guessing she'll thinks that's way too much. Plus finding ones the right size on sale is tough.
Cheers.

Field and Trek are normally fairly cheap for that kind of stuff. Gelert, Regatta, Karrimor and so on are cheap and are OK for occasional use.

I have Novatec disc brake hubs that are 8/9/10 speed (also compatible with 11 speed mtb cassettes, apparently). However, I have a SRAM Rival 11 speed road groupset.
Can I make these hubs work with the group? Perhaps with a different cassette body?
Or should I be looking for new hubs?

I can't actually find any 135mm disc brake hubs compatible with SRAM 11sp.
What shall I do lfgss?

Obviously not looking very hard.

Well, other than those which are rather pricey and seem hard to come by outside of the US.

Wait a few months for the flood of 11-speed disc hubs which is surely coming.

Seems I chose the wrong time to build an 11-speed disc bike. :)
However, I did just find a pair of those Novatec D711SB/D712SB on eBay UK for £90 delivered so it's not so bad.

will a 26'' spin trispoke fit my 650c fork? its not labeled as 650c and the guy says he had it on a recumbent.
my latest bike is the first ive had with 650c front and im slightly baffled as 26 is also a mountain bike wheel size aswell, etc etc,

Check the ETRTO number, that's the one based on actual measurements.
It'll be in mm and on virtually all tires and should be on the rim or check the manufacturer's site. -

You can also get the 11 speed free hub body for the Novatec D712 hubs, and convert it yourself.
(Has an 11 speed disc bike already).

Ah, that works? Good to know if so.
I've now purchased the D711/D712 hubset though so I'll just sell on the 10 speed set.

26" Spin wheels are 559*, 650C are 571. That's a difference of 6mm on the radius, so it will fit but you'll probably need a long reach brake caliper, and it will steepen your head a angle a bit, but probably not enough to be an issue.
*I suppose they might have made some 571s for Triantelopes, but I've never seen one.

I tried quite a few- my problem was getting one long enough that was also fitted enough, I ended up with a Rapha standard gillet, and a couple that came with Brevet jerseys, all of which I've found to be really good.
Hi Guys!
Can anyone explain the spoke counts on this wheelset?
It looks like one wheel is 32, one is 36, but i'm not sure which is which.
Thanks!
