Cheers. Not 100% whether they cover my area but I'll give them a try. They seem to be what I'm looking for.

Anyone know a place or way of getting data off a laptop which has stopped working? Can it be done without breaking the thing open and voiding the warranty? Any IT experts appreciated.

There may well be a panel you can remove by undoing 4 screws to reveal the hard disk, and you'll be able to pull it out without doing anything irreversible. Have a look on the base and around the sides.

I've done this, motherboard died so pulled out the hard drive and put it in a case.

↑↑This & ↑This. A USB hard drive case for a 2.5" IDE or SATA disc will be about a tenner.

Thanks gents. Bit concerned about voiding the warranty as the fried motherboard is being replaced on that basis.
-
• #63834
The hard drive is normally accessible without breaking warranty seals.
-

On "normal" laptops the hard drive should be in a place where its easily accessible. Normally changing "basic" components such as hard drives or even RAM doesn't void the warranty.
Unless it's a Mac, in which case you're fucked.Edit: Emyr was faster.

Anyone know of any discount codes to get cheap tickets for Revolution Series Round 1 at the Olympic Velodrome in a couple of weeks?
-
• #63839
I have one in W11. Might be just a bare board + USB lead (i.e. no box) as it's been used for a project. Would do for just a one off data transfer though. This is assuming its a 2.5" disk?

Thanks, but sadly I'm after the Sat evening standard tickets, which you can't get on there. Any other suggestions?

Just trying to work out where the track centre lounge is in the velodrome. Does it have a decent view or are you stuck behind glass in a corner somewhere? Anyone any ideas?
-
• #63843
Does it not mean literally in the centre of the track? There is a box above one of the straights but I assumed it was for broadcasting/etc.

Does anyone know where to find narrow-wide chainrings in 42t size and preferably 130mm BCD for cheap?
I'd like to update my Crosscheck to 1x9 and stay clear of a chainguide. -

We use hassle.com and not had a problem in over a year.

Track centre. Quite a large space with a bar I believe
-
• #63847
Hmm, those cheaper track centre tickets on groupon could be worth it maybe. Can't find much in the way of details on the website.
Cheers, Hassle.com seems to be one which just acts as an introducer to self-employed cleaners though.

Anyone willing to lend a 52cm cyclocross bike / mountain bike to allow a dear friend (who is traveling to London for the week) to join us ladies at the Cross skills session this coming sunday ?
Can collect it at HHV or round Battersea/Brixton/Clapham.
Real belgian chocolate / home made cake to trade
Thanks.
Just heard back from IB: £40-odd for the complete chainset.
Curious thing is that it should be a 122mm BB in there at the moment, where as it's 113mm which is what the new cranks need...
