Will my 105 5700 shifter/ levers pull CX vee brakes ok?

Thanks @bothwell and @danb. As I kind of expected this seems to be one of those areas where there are just too many variables to get a nice conclusive result.
My own contribution to science was about half a bulb, raw, through a garlic press, eaten on a cracker. I can confirm that this tastes very garlicky, but not as rank as expected. I feel better today, but I suspect a day off on the sofa is responsible for that. One more unreliable anecdote on the pile of misinformation!

a Chinese general cure is eating raw garlic bulbs steeped overnight in good rice wine vinegar.

Looking for recommendations for a simple budget keeper for Android phone. Something that I can just easily enter outgoings as I make them, maybe into diff categories (that can be customised).

Evidence?
I mean, anyone could come in with a claim as spurious as that and expect to be believed. Not on this here scientifically-minded forum, no, sir.

I think I figured out what the problem is. The end caps of the gear outer were in the adjuster tight, so they couldnt twist relative to the adjuster. So when I adjusted tension with them, it was putting in a twisting preload, thus unwinding itself later on.
Fixed it with some thin alloy end caps. Fingers crossed it stays put now.

My uncle makes a spirit with ginger and garlic, claims it gets rid of pretty much all ills.
Since he gave me a shot when I complained about a cold, I've not complained again... So it kind of works.
@Hovis, ha, that makes sense, when I'm adjusting mine I pull the cable out slightly for exactly that reason.

any good techniques for removing a seized small (3mm) stem allen bolt?
The head is not yet fully rounded but I can't put enough torque through it to crack it out without the allen key flexing and bending. I've tightened up the other bolt to try and remove any load from it but it's still stuck fast.
Any particular penetrating oils to be recommended? Thus far I've tried WD40 which has done nothing, as expected.
-
• #63690
Plus Gas if you can find it, it's much better than WD40.
I hope that works otherwise you've a tough job on your hands.
-

+1 for plus gas - I was recommended this when I was taking apart my rusty skip find horror show and it made completely seized bolts come out like they were brand new and well-greased.
Also maybe use an extended allen key for extra leverage.

So it will bend more? :-)
If you're worried about the integrity of the screw, the best way to protect it is by using a new (i.e. not worn) ¼" hex drive bit with a T-handle, so you can apply torque without accidentally leaning the driver to the side.
-
• #63693
yeah I was thinking this may be the best approach. Plus Gas and a t-handle allen key before I find a dremel then...

Deda RHM 02. I like. I like in 38. I have looked a little bit. But have come up dry.
I can go to a shop tmrw, but does anyone have any link to somewhere I could buy NOW?

Penetrating oil and time (like overnight at least). If you can find a torx bit that will fit after some percussive persuasion, that might grip a partially rounded allen better than a hex.

As in a brick and mortar shop? Then condor should have them

As in online retailer.

Pour a couple of kettles worth of boiling water over the area. Before trying again.

Colds and Flu. Wasn't the old adage starve a cold, feed a fever true? Or the other way round I can't remember and can't be arsed to google. But there was a pier reviewed study that concurred. Wasn't there also something to do with chili or spicy food releasing endorphins to make you feel better.

Take all the cures!
Endure all the repercussions.
try some of these: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=garlic+cold
This: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22962927 suggests that taking garlic may reduce the likely of getting a cold but won't decrease the duration of symptoms.
