Why do representatives from the political parties ask you for your polling card after you've voted?
-

exit polls?
-
• #60181
They didn't ask me who I voted for just for my card/number.

• #60182
Checking who has come out, so they can target doorsteps to round up stragglers.

This wasn't happening at my station. I hope Tester's right. Seems a bit sketchy. But I'm not sure how...
Btw, magnets? Any other options other than IKEA?

Lidl sometimes have them, they might have some left over in their stock if you ask. They did a bunch of them quite recently.

I'm stealing this advice and pretending it was my own as it's better than mine
Moving to West Norwood showed me Milkwood road.
Too late for all the sensible advise, I went via Clapham North. Was ok apart from about 1/4 of a mile either side of Stockwell but I just hung back and let everyone else fight it out. Came back the direct route through Streatham/Brixton and made it home 5 min before the groceries arrived. Wasn't perfect but I achieved my goal.
Thanks for the routes anyway.

You have your groceries delivered?
Who doesn't?

Another question - I need a length of chain and a lock to keep some bikes locked in a shared bike space. Where should I go for the chain (and I guess lock) around Bethnal Green/Hackney Road? I don't think the Leyton on Shoreditch High Street has chain.

after the recent theft of a bike from work (not mine) some people were asking why not get an S&S coupled bike (fixed with front brake) and take the front half with you and lock the rear .. I had no answer for this apart from it will take a lot of time to disassemble (not sure never used S&S).

It's not exactly an 'uncouple-n-go' system.
They require a wrench, no? -

If you've got the space to fit half a bike in the office, I'd suggest they find space for the other half as well and let you bring the whole thing.

Taking a wheel off is enough of a deterrent to most thieves.

Stick with Specsavers.
I've been wearing glasses every day of my life for 25 years and I've only ever been to Specsavers...
There is always some way of getting a free eye test if you look online and depending on the time of year they offer either bogof frames or free prescription sunglasses. There are so many stores in the country that you can have your glasses fixed for free pretty much anywhere if you need to.
If you're looking to save money, you can use your prescription details and order your spectacles online.

Looking for "backpacker insurance".
Has anyone used or heard of outbacker insurance? (outbackerinsurance.com) Underwritten by Ageas.
There aren't many reviews of them, but the level of cover and the price is really good.

Will be going there first as they have my subscription and I like their deals. Last time there were no frames I really liked so the ones I have have always annoyed me. They are falling apart now after 18 months. Was just looking to see if there were any convenient second choices.

If it makes you feel any better I used this for my route home today (live at the end of Lilford Rd on Coldharbour Lane). Don't think I made up any more time than usual but it was nice to avoid all the traffic lights on Walworth Rd.

My cycling repair manual says "very". I've also read "one grunt" online.

Why do representatives from the political parties ask you for your polling card after you've voted?
Yep, planning on whose doors they should go knocking on later in the evening I was told by the guy who asked me. I declined as I believe part of a secret ballot is whether or not you choose to vote (and also because my doorbell doesn't work so I don't really care if someone comes round to chase me to vote, I won't hear them).
