  • I live by Streatham Common and go through Brixton everyday (twice).

It's not the worst. If you turn off at Effra Road you can go the back way through Tulse Hill and West Norwood (as I do) but the emphasis there is on HILL.

  • I've got one of those wall mounted ones from ikea, is that what you mean?

Yeah, don't want wall mounted. There wall behind the cooker (and going up to the hood) is metal. A big magnet will do the job perfectly (and presumably for a couple of quid less).

Weren't you just at IKEA, H?

Shhhh! Yeah, but only saw the wall mounted ones.

They also have a utensil pot/holder that hangs off it. Handy for spatulas etc

Got a little thingy that mounts to the wall just for that (spatulas and a little basket for scissors and can opener). Life is good.

  • The wall mounted one will stick using its dark magic magnetism to your lump of metal, and then you can stick knives to it. I was storing one on a radiator for a while as I wasn't sure what to do with it.

  • In fact it might still be on the radiator, as I'm still not sure what to do with it.

  • Mrak, have you checked whether or not the metal is magnetic? Some stainless steels are not, for example.

  • Because no one knows how that shit works maaaaan........

  • I have indeed, Neil. But you're quite right to question me. Type of bonehead thing I'd fail to do.

  • ffs

  • how repairable is a carbon h3?

  • My question- and probably one for AndyP: I need to do a race-test this weekend, I'll be down in Winchester so no turbo, so where can I go to try to hold 300 watts for an hour and a half?

I'm guessing the answer to this is: nowhere.

    Sorry, only just seen this.

The B3047 was always my preference for TT type efforts, but you'd probably have to go to Alresford and back 3 or 4 times to make up an hour and a half. The old A33 might be worth a go to, not sure how busy it is these days but it's relatively flat.

As you know, most roads out of Winchester go up hills.

  • Got to ride to Streatham Common later from Blackfriars. Is it best to bomb it through brixton and streatham or is there a less rage inducing route? Will be pushed for time so nothing too "scenic"

Turn left at Jamm. Milkwood Road to Herne Hill.
Turn right off of Tulse Hill on Leigham Vale (it's a set of lights before the bridge after Tulse Hill station). Up LV. Turn right at the mini roundabout.

You can now either go up leigham court road for North of the common. Or straight down Valley Road for mid/south.

  • how repairable is a carbon h3?

I am sure the people you have annoyed recently would say that is perfectly safe to ride with a minor repair, just put nail varnish over the crack in the lacquer.

I'm stealing this advice and pretending it was my own as it's better than mine

  • how repairable is a carbon h3?

kifla might be able to tell you something. Had some cabronz advice from him before.

  • Too late for all the sensible advise, I went via Clapham North. Was ok apart from about 1/4 of a mile either side of Stockwell but I just hung back and let everyone else fight it out. Came back the direct route through Streatham/Brixton and made it home 5 min before the groceries arrived. Wasn't perfect but I achieved my goal.

    Thanks for the routes anyway.

  • You have your groceries delivered?

  • Yes, I though that was obvious from the "the groceries arrived" bit.

  • Anyone heading from Manchester to London anytime soon that could do me a favour?

  • Just making sure. Is it expensive? No experience with these sort of things..

A few quid on top of the total

  • I can spare the time and can't really spare the extra money, but still good to know for when in need. Methinks some supermarkets down here in NL also do it.

  • Them Fairphones any good? Besides official #hipsterstatus

  • Very pleased with mine. Had quite a few bugs that got sorted after the first softwareupdate. I chose it because of the dual-sim, which made my need for a work and a private phone obsolete. The case looks a bit dated, but everything else is great.

  • Anyone got any old pci express graphics card they can lend me for a week or so? Mine is fried :( have ordered a new one but I doubt it will come before next week

The 'winch' bit in the name is a giveaway.
