c) chop 3cm off the end of the bullhorns

Don't think that would work, as the horns have a bend in them at the end and it would mess up the internal cable routing...

Has anyone ever had interference with their cycle computer from traffic lights or crossings?
Mine blacks out every time I go over the pelican at the junction of aldenham road and chalk hill. Not really a problem, just wondering.
Yes, although mine doesn't black out. It just whizzes much faster (74mph). Does it when I use a Smart front light as well which is a pain in the arse.

Get wiggly bars. My GF likes the On One Mary bars on her PompinoCX, and I've just bought some Fleegle Pros for her mountainbike.
I've also got some On One Mungos that I'm going to put on my commuter, which has the opposite problem to yours.

Or maybe Snorkys? Like inverse bullhorns. On the horns for sit-up and beg and on the flats for speed? ;)
Edit: Bars like these effectively only provide one (though very comfortable) position for the hands. I would like to have at least a second position, for when I want to go faster.

Maybe not.
Hmm missed that but still the only way he's going to be able to hold 300w steady for an hour and a half.

I've had the super-speed glitch on other rides, I guess that explains it. I had assumed it was the rain.
I like to think I'm buggering up the traffic light phasing every time I go over it, but I bet I'm not.

I am an indian citizen (UK resident); Can I vote in EU elections tomorrow? I know I can in general elections being commonwealth and all.
-
• #60135
I think all registered residents have. You should have mail no?
-
• #60136
I did get mail yes but I thought that was sent to everyone on electoral list and not just eligible voters; also I have discarded the mail; can I still go?
-

Found it:
How do I know if I can vote?
Most people should have received polling cards through the post. To be eligible to vote, you had to be on the electoral register by 6 May. Anyone over 18 on 22 May who is a British citizen living in the UK, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen living in the UK, a citizen of the Republic of Ireland living in the UK, or an EU citizen living in the UK can vote if there is a local election where they live. British citizens living overseas can also vote in the European elections provided they have registered as overseas electors. EU citizens living in the UK can only vote in the European Parliament elections if they don't vote in their home member state. -

Enjoy the democracy.
I seem to remember reading somewhere you can just show up. (citation needed)
-
• #60139
Yeah, it says on the polling card that you don't need to take the polling card with you, you can just turn up and give them your name and address and they can find you on their little list.

On that note, I moved in Jan form Wandsworth to Lambeth.
I'm paying council tax but I got polling cards for the previous residents and not us.
Do you reckon I can just turn up too? I've not actively registered onto the electoral register at my new address.
-
• #60141
I believe you need to be actively on the register to vote, as you need to know which polling station is "yours" and the polling station needs to know which voters are theirs.
You could always go and vote at your old polling station in Wandsworth, if you know what it is, and assuming some scrote hasn't stole your vote by then. Get your registration sorted out soon though!

Got to ride to Streatham Common later from Blackfriars. Is it best to bomb it through brixton and streatham or is there a less rage inducing route? Will be pushed for time so nothing too "scenic"

Hey - where would one get a magnet about 20-30cm x a few cm tall, which could hold itself, and a number of knives?
-

I have discarded the mail; can I still go?
My information says that if for some reason I have lost my polling card I can request a new one until May 21st (today) 12:00. I live in Holland, but assuming your rules are quite the same you'd be too late.

I've got one of those wall mounted ones from ikea, is that what you mean?

Weren't you just at IKEA, H?

Brixton will be hideous gridlock if it's rush hour. The fastest route is down CS7 from E&C, which will also be busy but the road is a bit wider so you'll have a better chance of getting through, plus no silly diversions.

They also have a utensil pot/holder that hangs off it. Handy for spatulas etc

That could work. I could turn off down Bedford at clapham south. Cheers.
I need a suggestion for a comfortable handlebar setup.
I plan to do some touring on the bike during summer and I'd like to survive it.
the situation is as follows:
My bike is slightly too long for me (I guess). I am riding Bullhorns with the brake levers at the ends which is fun for fast riding but is uncomfortable on longer rides. To compensate the long reach I installed a 50mm stem, which can't be a good idea.
Ideas:
a) install cross brake levers on the bullhorns and switch back to a longer stem (80mm or so). Ride more on the flats and only grip the horns for speed/extra power
I fear this would actually make things worse but then again, I have never ridden on the flats of the bullhorns for long because I have no brakes on them.
b) Compact drops, high rise 80mm stem, cross levers.
More positions, but I have never ridden drops before. worth it?
